The Botanic Garden at Oklahoma State University is a beautiful and serene place to visit year-round. Even in the winter, when the plants are dormant, the gardens and walking trails offer a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

The gardens are located on the west side of the OSU campus and are open to the public from dawn to dusk. Admission is free. The gardens are a great place to learn about plants and gardening. There are a variety of gardens to explore, including a Japanese garden, a rose garden, and a children's garden. The gardens also have a number of walking trails, which are perfect for a leisurely stroll or a more vigorous workout.

The Botanic Garden is also home to the Oklahoma Gardening Studio Garden, where the weekly TV show "Oklahoma Gardening" is filmed. Visitors can watch the show being filmed or take a tour of the studio garden.

In addition to its gardens and trails, the Botanic Garden also offers a variety of educational programs and events throughout the year. These programs and events are a great way to learn more about plants, gardening, and the environment.

Overall, The Botanic Garden at Oklahoma State University is a wonderful place to visit. It is a beautiful and peaceful place to learn about plants and gardening. I highly recommend visiting the gardens if you are in the Stillwater area.

Additional Information: The Botanic Garden is a 100-acre living laboratory used by scientists at OSU. The gardens are home to a variety of plants, including native plants, roses, and Japanese maples. The gardens also have a number of water features, including a pond and a waterfall. The Botanic Garden is a popular spot for weddings and other special events.

Tips for Visiting: The best time to visit the gardens is in the spring or fall, when the weather is mild and the plants are in bloom. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes, as you will be doing a lot of walking. Bring a water bottle and sunscreen, especially if you are visiting during the summer months. If you are interested in learning more about the gardens, be sure to take a tour or attend one of the educational programs offered.

I hope this...

Best hidden gem Stillwater has to offer. Great for kids.

Not only is the garden truly beautiful and a great place to take pictures, but it is so family friendly and planned out to be interactive and so much fun. Throughout the garden there are several places for children to play, including a play house, a water table with an old pump (you have to pump it a lot to get it started), and a little area cut into the trees set up as a kid hideout with a climbing tunnel, swing, and chairs for children. Other features kids love include a small koi fish pond, a sensory garden with fountains, musical instruments, and nice smelling herbs. There is even a train garden that has a working model train running certain weekends of the year. And chickens! With a little vending machine you can pay a few quarters to feed them. The new Treehouse Village is a 2 story wooden playground with a new slide as well. The garden itself is absolutely beautiful, and has many walking paths with different types of plants and landscape design to discover. I like to even go there for exercise, as there's a long path from the old south-side parking lot that loops all the way around to the northwest parking lot and is about a half a mile if you do the whole loop- I would make a few laps with the kids in the stroller then let them out to play. The staff are also so very nice and pleasant every time we see them. Once my child fell down and got a little skinned knee, and the sweet employee went and got him a popsicle to make him feel better, which was an unexpected and kind treat.

And the best part: it's absolutely free. I would most definitely pay money to enjoy an attraction so well suited for children, but the gardens are...

This garden is on the cutting edge of Horticulture. You will see many new plants you may not be familiar with along with trial gardens that might reveal the next popular cultivar. I personally was impressed seeing pink velvet banana growing in a very established grove surviving after last winter after a week of single digits and low of negative 10 or so! I would like to see them propagated and sold at the next plant sale! Great job with the gardens!
