On a crisp autumn morning I was joined by both local and international educators visiting the Flight 93 National Memorial. Frost still covered the shaded places while the Sun shone bright in the blue and white sky. You quickly notice the sightline and path represent the final second of Flight 93’s flight path. Walking the path takes you to an elevated deck that overlooks the ground around the final resting place of those who took action against the terrorists. The leaves have turned their autumn colors or already fallen. The meadow was calm and brown ready for winter. The museum brought emotional responses as you see and hear images, sounds, video and artifacts of that clear crisp September day. A clear walking path takes you along red oaks and other trees. Soon you cross a gently curving bridge that takes you to a wall along the crash site. It ends at a gate that is opened once a year for the victims/hero’s families to see their loved one’s final resting place. As we departed for home several people remarked on how well designed this...

The time I spent here will forever be seared in my memories. The tower of voices was profoundly beautiful and a unique way to honor these heroes. I’d like to come back on a windy day to hear the 40 different tones. The visitors center was a walking educational exhibition, this is where it all came to life for my 12 year old. Who said “the people didn’t seem real” until she heard their recorded last calls to their loved ones. This monument was very thoughtful from the beginning to the end. It enveloped me with a somber, humbling feeling of gratitude and pride for these 40 patriots who fought against terrorism that still sits with me weeks later. We can not forget these 40 souls and...

Set against the serene backdrop of Pennsylvania's rolling hills, the Flight 93 Memorial stands as a poignant testament to heroism and sacrifice.

From the moment one sets foot on this hallowed ground, there's an overwhelming weight of reverence and reflection. Walking the grounds, one can't help but feel connected to those 40 passengers and crew members who took a stand.

The design is thoughtful, guiding visitors on a journey of remembrance and respect. In the age of skyscraper monuments and digital tributes, the Flight 93 Memorial offers a raw, unfiltered encounter with history.

Sobering,...
