Beautiful Lake Setting: The highlight of Bow Wow Beach is the large lake area where dogs can splash, swim, and fetch to their heart’s content. The sandy shore and designated dog-friendly swimming areas make it feel like a mini beach vacation for pets.
Spacious and Clean: With plenty of room to roam, even on busier days, dogs have ample space to play without feeling cramped. The park staff does an excellent job maintaining the area, keeping it clean, and ensuring it’s a safe environment for everyone.
Thoughtful Amenities: Bow Wow Beach is equipped with everything a dog owner could need. There are shaded benches, waste stations stocked with bags, and even dog-washing stations for cleaning up afterward. Plus, they have a separate small-dog area, so little pups can play safely away from bigger breeds if needed.
Friendly Atmosphere: The park attracts a community of dog lovers who are just as excited to be there as their pets. Fellow dog owners are respectful and mindful of park rules, and the dogs are generally well-behaved, making it a fantastic spot to meet other pet parents and swap tips.
Free Access: It’s almost too good to be true that Bow Wow Beach offers all this for free! It’s a perfect example of a community space created with love and attention, allowing pet owners to enjoy quality time with their dogs without breaking the bank.

Read moreI enjoyed this parked with my puppy up until today. My puppy Chris is 6 months and on the bigger side not bigger than 35 lbs and not big enough or mature enough to be in the large dog area. A older couple with a smaller dog told me my dog did not belong in the small dog area. Note Chris loves to wrestle he's never been aggressive, never growled or showed any signs of being dangerous to another dog or human. Their dog on the other hand became aggressive to the point the lady asked me to get my dog which I did but instead of her picking up her dog and diffusing the situation she continued to tell me why my dog doesn't belong. While her dog continued to run free as im trying to remove myself and my dog from the situation. My feelings are ultimately hurt as I feel it wasn't just my dog that was the problem as I am a black woman yep I said it!. I no longer feel welcomed. I honestly think that there needs to be an area for Medium size dogs especially for puppies that are bigger. They are left out of the equation of safe space and its not fair. They need a safe space where they can release their puppy energy. I feel this will be an ongoing issue until a middle ground is put into place. I plan on contacting the city of Stow about my concerns. I feel this will benefit everyone and everyone will feel they have a place to be comfortable in this park if they update the park to...
Read moreBow wow Beach is just as it is described. A lake with room around it for dogs to run and play. This was our first visit, and it came the day after a rain. That was probably ill-advised, because it made the park smell very much like a dog park. I'm sure it would not be that way on a dry day. There was plenty of parking, and it's part of a larger park with other amenities. There's also an unusually large small dog park attached. It does not have lake access, but it is very big, grassy and lovely compared to most of the postage stamps UC for smaller dogs. The folks we talked to were very nice, and there were plenty of places along the way to sit down in the shade. You do have to remember, that if you take your dog here, you will need to give it a bath afterwards. You might also want to bring a towel and your own water, in the vain attempt to keep your dog from drinking from the lake. My dog did not go into the lake all that much, but everything is muddy. The proof is in the pudding though, and my dog had an absolutely wonderful time. She ran and played and just had a lovely adventure. She's the pretty beagle in the pics. I think we'll go back, although it is a bit of a hike for us. But on a nice day when you want a drive, this is definitely a good...
