I used the landing here to put my Kayak in and kayak a bit. Upstream. The water seems a bit more dirty than the landing at route 50 bridge as the river comes down where there are more farms, whereas the route 50 bridge water has some water mixed in from the other fork of the river that goes between shenandoah national park and massanutten so it is cleaner there the water is cleanest south of front royal on that fork of the river though because there is massanutten and shenandoah on both sides and a long distance from the nearest bigger town (Lurray). Playground is fairly good sized with stuff for all ages.
Soccer games are held here, access to the river walk, boat launch, basketball, dog park, tennis and public pool is all here.
4th of July celebration is jam packed with vendors, food trucks, music and bounce houses. Get there early or be prepared to park up the road and walk. There's talk of a skate park being installed in the near future.
