Where the Forest Breathes and the River Moves
Bonnie Park in Strongsville is one of those timeless Metroparks spaces that carries a calm, magnetic energy. The sound of flowing water, the rich scent of the forest floor, and the open clearings create an environment that feels alive yet deeply grounding — perfect for Qi Gong, hiking, and breathwork practice.
Flow of Water, Strength of Earth
The East Branch of the Rocky River runs through this park like a living current of energy. When I practice here, the flow of the river mirrors the rhythm of the breath — steady, cleansing, and constant. The Earth beneath your feet feels strong and ancient, inviting rooted stances and slow, deliberate movement.
A Space for Practice and Presence
Bonnie Park offers open fields, wooded trails, and shaded spaces where you can move freely without distraction. It’s one of those rare places where you can transition seamlessly from hiking into stillness — from motion into meditation.
Why It’s Worth Visiting
If you’re looking for a place to recharge, breathe, and move with the natural elements, Bonnie Park offers it all. It’s not just a park — it’s a living classroom for Fire, Earth, Air, and Water to...
Read moreThus area use to be very nice with the river running free, and nice water falls too. We use to come here all the times. Now??? We are not sure. They put railing by the river but so far from the water that you can't even see the river. The benches are also designed without thinking. The benches are too far from the fence the you look over nothing but weeds. What they created with our money here is just a weed area. Nobody what to overlook weeds. The patio they put in ehere use to be the falls is also made without thinking. There are no benches on yhe patio to sit on and the steps has no railings making it very hard ( almost imposible) for old people to walk especially with the handicap walker. They really redesigned something what nature designed for us. And one more thing. The benches are facing away from the river blocking us to view the water what we are really wanted to see. That's why we only giving it 2...
Read moreThis is definitely one of our favorite little spots in Cleveland Metroparks. A recently added sign explains that the dam and pavilion were built as WPA projects during the Great Depression. This is a great place to have a picnic. Slightly larger than standard charcoal grill on site. The bathrooms are what you would expect from park bathrooms, not luxurious but not completely awful either. There is a short loop trail which is paved and flat, and it connects to the main parkway trail. A couple of baseball diamonds are down here also, where in the summer I’ve watched people playing cricket. Bonnie Park is just a clean, very well kept spot in...
