This was a stop along the way on a road trip to The Meadows of Dan in Virginia.
The location offers gravel parking for approximately 8 to 10 cars. Once outside, visitors treated to spectacular views of the Appalachians looking to the north.
Half of the experience was the drive along the two lane road leading up to the lookout point. It's a wonderfully curvy, scenic mountain tarmac leading up to about 3,000 ft.
The particular day I went was Easter Sunday and there were only two other cars there. I'm sure during the summer months and holidays it'd be much more crowded.
Unfortunately, although this is one of the most beautiful overlooks in the Appalachians, I had to knock off two stars because the area is marred by graffiti and litter. Just under the overlook there was lots of debris strewn amid the vegetation.... very disappointing.
In fact, I had to make efforts to aim my camera in various directions to take pictures, so as to avoid capturing the garbage in the photos.
Hopefully, officials will make efforts to clean up the area so it can be more...

No other "overlook" that I have been at, matches it.. not even close. UPDATE 2/15/22: VIRGINIA DOT (VDOT) is undertaking a huge upgrade to the JEB STUART HWY US58 road going up around the mountain at Lovers Leap... They are expanding it to 4 lanes..
