The lighthouse is pretty, but it’s privately owned by an elderly couple from Florida. How do I know this? The upper walkway is how they access, they stay in it randomly in the summer. I didn’t know it was an actual house, and not part of the coast guard, or public property until the lady yelled at my son for touching the ladder. Not climbing the ladder, not hanging from the ladder, but touching it with his right hand. They should probably put a do not enter or private property sign on it. Read moreWe stayed at Almoga for two days , there is a homely atmosphere all around. The motel we spent our two nights is just near the red light house . An American retained couple running it. Rate was cheap and rooms were amazing with all facilities and the breathtaking few. If you just open the main door there were a pub across the street, they entertained us with free live music, people spent nights up there with family in a RV .... seagulls were making picturesque images for my camera . Read moreLoved this little scenic spot. You can walk down to the end of the pier to see the red lighthouse. However, you must stay on the public labeled walkway to get down to the pier. Loved taking pictures and getting to see the views of the crystal clear water. Beware the area was a little buggy on the way back to the car. We also drove around and over the bridge to get to the other side of the coast guard facility to visit the beach and other pier.
