I went there for the first time specifically to bowl. They have offers on Saturday that include an hour of bowling for $24.99/hr plus $4 shoe rentals. I thought it was still a bit pricey for a sale, but we went anyway. When we got inside, we were pleasantly surprised as to how it was basically an indoor amusement park. We're greeted with vibrant lights and funky colors that are appealing to the eye. We saw amusement rides, arcade games, go karts, a skating rink, a small food court, a bar & grill, and the bowling alley. I must say the bowling alley was a disappointment. The staff was friendly, but the lanes were almost all malfunctioning. We went to the initial lane they had for us and it was stuck when we got there. There was one pin sitting out there and the reset button wasn't responding. I mentioned it to the staff 3 times and all of 20 minutes went by before I requested a different lane. They kept telling me someone in the back would fix it, but no one ever did. The staff added more time to our game to compensate. We switched to a different lane and it started out well, until it started acting up as well. It would sweep away all the pins after the first throw, or not take pins away after a turn was done. We spent the night resetting it after almost every turn. I informed the staff and they told me that the alley is old and that most lanes have some sort of problem and that they could give me more time if I wanted. So they added 2 more hours. We didn't stay there that long, but I was at least happy that they were able to give us some sort of compensation. Overall, the place needs an update, especially the bowling area. But it was nice to be there and it was a...
Read moreMy day at Funplex was a most satisfying escape from the ordinary in many years. That's actually an understatement - when I first entered, I was totally blown away. The building is 200,000 square feet! There were large groups of kids coming and going while I was there, everyone was having a blast They are making various upgrades and recently opened their esports gaming center. They have a variety of PC titles for kids and adults, including my favorites like CS:GO and League of Legends. The room has fiber speeds, good quality rigs, peripherals and displays. They're also renovating their bowling alley, can't wait for the new facility to open, it's going to be top of the line. I didn't get a chance to bowl or skate but will definitely do so.
The restaurant was really good, I ate there a number of times. Had a killer veggie burger and a fresh pizza that was baked in just ten minutes (it was cheesy, full of toppings and delicious). Also recommend the quesadillas (I made sure mine had extra jalapeno, cheese and onions). Didn't get a chance to try the desserts but they looked good. Ate my food with a fountain soda from the bar. Good times.
What truly sets Houston Funplex apart is the attention to detail and the dedication to providing an unforgettable experience. The park is clean and well-maintained, and the staff goes above and beyond to ensure your safety and enjoyment. In my time there, I saw that management worked extremely hard and genuinely cared about creating magical memories for each and every visitor.
Simply, it's a mainstay in the community. Everyone can unleash their inner thrill-seeker there. Looking forward to...
Read moreCame here in December with some friends and ordered food at the bowling alley. The young lady seemed new and told me my debit card declined, which was odd. She typed it in manually and came back with another gentleman who was showing her how to use the card machine. I just used my credit card instead. I looked at my bank account and saw it processed but thought it would fall off. After a few days, the payment posted. I called multiple times trying to get ahold of a manager. The first time, someone said they’ll have a manager give me a call once they come in, which didn’t happen. Apparently managers don’t like to do their job at this place because I could never get one on the phone. I end up going up there one day and asked to speak with a manager. The lady behind the desk went to get him and came back playing the leave a message game. After I demanded to speak to someone, she went back on the floor to get him. I followed her. He was right there by the entrance and didn’t want to handle a problem he gets paid to do. After telling him about the issue, he seemed empathetic and acted like he was going to investigate the employee that told me a manager would call back but never did. He told me, their accountant would have to deal with the issue and to write my information down. He said he would personally make sure the accountant gave me a call back when they came in. Never received that call. This place is 30 minutes away, and I don’t have time to keep going back up there. I disputed the charge with my bank. I wouldn’t recommend doing business here since this place has no-one in charge when an...
