Sullivan's Island Beach — Attraction in Sullivan's Island

It's a shame when you take your family to a location for a long deserved vacation and the locals tell you to your face to go back home just because you have an out-of-state plate on your vehicle.... this douchebag in a sand colored Jeep Rubicon literally endangerd me and my family's life by following us all around the narrow Streets On This Island for over 20 minutes, I finally was able to get his tag number and report him to the police but I assure you the next time when I go somewhere for vacation with my family I will be packing heat- I will have a dash camera and I will not tolerate this. I am a God-fearing individual and I always put my family first above and beyond everything else and I will protect them at any cost. I assure you this piece of trash will get what he has coming to him-- karma is law and people will be aware of the seriousness and repercussions of this man's actions and it will be known to all. e...

Nice quiet beach with great views of the harbor and bird life. Various gulls, peeps, pelicans, terns, a limpkin, were all in attendance. We even spotted a few dolphins. There's no surf because it's in the harbor, and there's a sign prohibiting swimming. But after a long day hoofing around Charleston and Ft. Moultrie, getting the feet wet in the "surf" was refreshing and reviving. One guy was wet head to toe which makes me think he was swimming and either knew the patrol schedule or that enforcement is lax.

The location is perfect: when you're done seeing Ft. Moultrie, stroll out to the beach. The beach and the parking are free. If the fort is closing, go across the street, get your car and move it to the beach parking. Looks like a great place to see the sunset too looking across the harbor and Ft. Sumter with the sunset behind. We couldn't stay for the full effect, but the set up...

Visited on a weekday at the end of August and it was exactly what I needed calm, uncrowded, and easy to enjoy. While there were other beachgoers around, there was plenty of space to spread out without feeling packed in. The atmosphere was relaxed and low-key, which is what makes this one of my favorite beaches in South Carolina.

The waves were a bit strong the farther you ventured into the water, but the temperature was great and overall conditions were perfect for a leisurely day.

Parking can be tricky, especially with all the residential areas nearby make sure you’re paying attention to signs and not blocking driveways. But once you’re settled, there’s a lot to love.
