Generally love the park. Go there practically every day. It is a great, public, and overall free place to enjoy nature, play, exercise, what have you. Had a bad run in, however, during the solar eclipse. They were capitalizing on free parking by charging $50 for a place I normally park for free. Unless clarified, it is a public place that has free parking. I'd even understand a notice at least a week prior to prepare others who would, of course, be caught between a rock and a hard place when parking on that day, but there was absolutely nothing until the day of. It was absolute exploitation. One of the guys I talked to at the gate entrance was someone I understand works there. They told me the fee cost. I was, of course, upset, and clarified it was a public place and I'm not going to be charged an exuberant price for something that people have a right to. We drove away, but they decided to shout "rude" over and over. Yes, I was upset, but nothing was out of context or uncalled for in such a ludicrous situation to exploit visitors and tourists who are non-the-wiser. And of course I did shout back "you're charging $50 for a free parking space, that's rude!" Because of this, this place gets an exuberant review for rudeness from an employee and, never thought I'd live to see the day, exploitation of a free space for a naturally occuring phenomena every person has a right to enjoy without unjustifiable costs when other revenue streams, such as food and other resources, are available for the city to capitalize on all they want in various...
Read moreThis DG course was just “okay” for me. More problems than good points.
First, the good things: 18 holes, 2 sets for tee off, variety of distances and dog legs, some water features.
Now the not so good: The starting point was difficult to find. The way the course was set up is not very logical in the flow for moving from the basket to the next tee off, which made it a bit frustrating to me. The distance between the basket to the next tee off were sometimes far. The terrain is flat with some drainage problems. The grass could be not mowed properly. There were no resting places with shade, which could be turn into a medical emergency for some on hot and humid days. Bring drinking water. The water features were very risky for...

They say if you stand by the falls at Coleman Park just past midnight, you’ll feel it before you see it — a sudden chill, like the water itself turns to ice. Locals whisper about a woman in white, soaked and shivering, lingering just behind the curtain of falling water. Some claim she’s searching for something lost beneath the surface, her hollow eyes locked on the depths.
On quiet nights, you might catch a glimpse of her pale face in the mist. Don’t call out. Don’t get too close. Those who do say they hear her voice echoing in their ears for days after, whispering a name that isn’t theirs. And if you dare step into the water, well… not everyone who does finds their way...
