Both the State and National Park services are doing a great job in the whole area around Mark Twain National Forest to bring much needed tourism and renovations to open up these resources to the public, such as the nearby Echo Bluff Park that opens you up to explore places like this nearby. That being said, I knew nothing about this cave before taking the tour but after speaking with the friendly cave tour guide nearby, decided to give it a go.
