This place is awful. The campsites are all hilly and rocky, the camp host is an absolute jerk, and it's so crowded and close together it feels like you may as well be camping in downtown STL. We rented two sites next to each other and one site was so hilly and full of tree roots we ended up putting 3 of our 4 tents in one of the sites. When the camp host came to tell us to move we politely explained why we had 3 tents on one site, and he ended up calling the Forest Ranger to make us move. Mind you, right next to us there was a Boy Scout pack with 7 tents on one site that he didn't make move. His explanation? They have two sites. So, it's okay for THEM to have more than two tents in THEIR site but not us? Ok... And after that he consistently harassed us the entire weekend, even when we were down at the river. The shower house is also disgusting, with black mold and dirt all over the sinks, the toilets were filthy and there were only two showers and two bathrooms for the whole camp. We'd never go back here even if it was the last place on earth and someone tried to pay us...

There are some good ones but many are rather sloped. Do a bit of research to find one that will work best for you and your equipment.||||You can grab a map and other National Park information at the ranger station, including Junior Ranger booklets. Also check the schedule for any programs happening at the amphitheater during your stay, my daughter loved attending them.||||The bathhouse was nice and stayed pretty clean during our trip. I really liked the individual shower rooms and wish more places were set up like this. It's very easy for families with kids that still need some help with showering.||||Round Spring is definitely worth checking out. There's a small paved trail that leads around to it. We didn't have time to tour Round Spring Cave but it is located near the spring and tickets can be purchased at the ranger station. It is certainly on our agenda...
Read moreThis campground is a great place to camp. It has tons of shaded areas. Each camp spot has a table, fire ring, and a trash pole. The bathrooms are clean, probably one of the cleanist of camp bathrooms. Showers are available on the backside of the restrooms. The campground has easy access to the Current River. Carr's Canoe Rental is just right down the road if you didn't bring your own. The best part of this campground are the campground hosts. They are so nice, helpful, and full of knowledge. We met a couple of the rangers and they were nice too. We attended a park ranger program that they have in the pm and it was full of information. We went in May so it was still a little cool. We didn't have problems with too many bugs but I can see in the summer you will need lots of your bug/tick spray. Highly...
