I had a panel upgrade with Tapps couple years ago. We agreed to go with 40 spot panel 200amp with new cadet heats with low profile so it doesn't stick out. (For rental unit) I was out of town for work while work has been done. I review the work and instead of 40 spot a 30 spot was installed because (thats what we had)... And obviously the low profile cadets weren't installed. They came back to replace the panel. But did nothing for the cadets, let alone they left a bunch of amateur cuts. My tenant was nice enough I can repair once they moved. Now I'm in the unit and very disappointed with the poor workmanship. I even gave them a 2nd chance for another rental property in Puyallup. Tenant had a bad outlet, already knew which outlet. And same dude charge 1k for (troubleshooting and replacing one outlet) There after I never contacted them again or will I ever for any of my rentals.

We just moved to Washington last year from California and have never needed a Heat Pump and didn’t have Air Conditioning. It was something we were told that we should get. Our new home however had many challenges to make it work. Dave and his team stepped right in and made it happen. From the beginning, Dave gave us his professional advice and walked us over what we needed to do. He even came out a second time before we made our decision on who to work with. Making sure we had everything figured out. His team showed up on time and totally prepared. Zachary and the team from Tapps showed totally professionalism and made the install work as planned. We couldn’t be happier. They get our seal of approval to work with! Thanks Tapps!

I needed more power at my place for my garage and to convert a small barn into a rental. During the free estimate I mentioned that I knew nothing about electrical so I just explained what I intended to do and I trusted that Tapps Electric would know what was needed. I accepted the bid for a 400 amp service upgrade, the estimate was $17,516.49. This upgrade would give me a total of 200 amps at my garage to use and pull power from for the rental. I put half the money down ($8,758) to get the project started, in the following weeks I began to suspect that Tapps Electric was taking full advantage of my ignorance. I decided to get another estimate and when I did my suspension was confirmed. The new estimate was $3,500 total, it was to install a new 320 amp service directly on the garage with 2 200 amp panels inside. That’s $14,016.49 less and 120 amps more power than the way Tapps Electric chose to do it. As you can imagine I canceled with Tapps Electric, the office lady (Bridget) said she would speak with the project manager (Will) and determine what their expenses were at that point and refund me the remainder of the money down. Bridget determined after speaking with Will (Will was the one doing the work on the project) that they would keep $758 and refund me $8,000. Over a week passed and I had not received a refund check, and I was getting no response to my emails inquiring about it. I decided to contact the owner Kayla Morris and give her a chance to resolve the issue I was having regarding the refund. Kayla “dug into” the issue and discovered, by speaking with the utility company (PSE), that there were no cancellation fees on their end because I was continuing with another electrical company. She cited the cancellation policy on the contract that I signed which states to “please give as much notice as possible because a lot of work goes into pulling permits and coordinating with utility companies and that in the event of cancellation refer to the policy below.” The policy only applies cancellation fees when sufficient notice is not give prior to scheduled work. In my case there was NO WORK SCHEDULED! She then determined that due to all the work Will had done doing things like talking with PSE, doing “load calculations”, and filling out service applications that they would be keeping $1,258 and refunding me $7,500. Nowhere in the entire contract does it warrant the money Kayla decided to take, not in the cancellation policy, nor in any of the line items on the estimate. Technically, according to their contact, the money they are taking is unwarranted. What Kayla did, in my opinion, is tantamount to theft. The experience doesn’t end there, weeks went by without receiving the refund check. After numerous emails I finally received a check, it was not filled out properly and couldn’t be deposited. I notified Kayla the same day, a few days later she said she would send out another check. Again, weeks went bye but this time my emails regarding the refund were being ignored. After consulting with an attorney and threatening arbitration I finally got the $7,500 check deposited. When you look at what Tapps Electric tried to charge me for 200 amps vs what another company charged me for 320 amps it’s hard to explain in any way other than an attempted gouging. Then when you look at the money Kayla took in contrast to the money the other company completed the entire job for its clear to me that I was gouged on the way out. It’s very telling that upon discovering I was continuing with another electrical company, Kayla doubles the charges. I chalk up the difficulty getting the $7,500 back over the next month and a half to a petty attempt to interfere with my ability to fund the ongoing project. The electrical company I chose to go with completed their portion of the job before I received the bad check from Kayla. I strongly recommend getting multiple bids. After all that fiasco with Tapps Electric and being ripped off for $1,258, I still saved $13,000...

Tucker and his assistant are hard workers. Day and a half it took to replace my electrical panel along with ground water wire that needed upgraded as well. And I am happy he returned yesterday finally to fix something that mysteriously happened to my garbage disposal on how two wires were feeding it to the point it was so loud and could have burned up. (Contacted this company via email and took them still over a week to get back out) Tucker had it labeled Heater, when it was garbage disposal. (Could have burned my home down). The subpanel was in my email added to the new panel explanation of what all was going to be done. Not my fault not in his work order and the inspector knew I had paid to put all in one panel. .. So not sure where or why you are stating a false statement. Read the email attached to our contract. The electrician I hired in 97 did a great job of downstairs and I had no issues ever, so permit, ask him what happened to it. I am not responsible for code changings . I was also told the sub panel could stay by the inspector, but i had paid for the sub panel to be added to one panel downstairs was my original desire esp when I paid what I did to you guys. Who leaves 2 panels when it is all upgraded to a 200 amp, so nice try, but pretty sure my contract with them paid for permit. i am not responsible for contractors side stepping or making me look like my problem, not theirs. . I re-checked everything this morning 8/29 and all is all working properly. I give him (Tucker) a gold star for his knowledge. Only thing I would have done differently is label the panel a bit better to understand where everything is actually located. I don't call hand written words that I cannot read very well a professional labeling of a panel (again, agreement in our contract). I still can't make out some of it, but will label it myself. But We are done!! you got paid and probably why I had to make a review to get you guys to take me seriously. . No more reviews unless I don't get my hard copy from your company and the inspectors copy you said you had.. You said you had them. I asked if Tucker would bring them out. They didn't arrive with Tucker. He arrived a bit angry and frustrated. I have my copy of emails, so do not need those unless you want to add them as well to this file. . You people blamed the inspector for making Tucker do a job not on his order, but was already agreed on our email of exactly what you were going to do. I read the email to Tucker to be assured what the inspector said was what this company agreed to do for the very close to $7,000 job and somehow you are blaming me for a meter ring that was never replaced?? Codes change all the time. When you upgrade, be prepared to go to current codes of that date and month and year. You already knew the water ground was not going to be easy to locate and a new one would had to have been made, which it was. So have a great business life, I just now bumped you people to a C, for trying to blame me for more work that was guaranteed satisfaction!! is this how you work, shady and do not communicate. took you guys 10 days to get back out here to fix that disposal. You have to ask Tucker what happened. I could not use it. His error, no one elses and NO, you cannot blame the inspector for this one. The inspector passed a panel that looked safe, and you both got copies of the upgrade I sent him that now the panel got labeled with the disposal which i still think is/was code, but what do I know. ?? Just mostly appreciated of the inspector and for Tucker to follow his...

We were contracted by Mike Crisologo with Tapps electric to do some parking lot striping at a EV charging station in Rochester, wa. We scheduled the job, showed up to do the work, completed the work, sent a bill after completion of the work and are now more than 90 days delinquent on getting paid. I have reached out to there main office number several times with no answer. We got one return call saying they were having a company bbq and would be in touch Monday. After not getting a call back I reached back out to Mike who originally hired us and he said he was having issues with other contractors also not getting paid by Tapps electric. I was able to get ahold of their accounts payable person Shelly after Mike provided the number. At first contact she said the end of the year has been crazy and she is having a meeting with the investors on when I can get paid. This is wild considering we sent a bid with a (30) day net payment terms which is standard, got approval, did the work and sent the bill now 90 days later we need to wait for this investor meeting? We operate by paying our subs immediately once the works done. If it wasn’t in our payroll we could of discussed alternate terms prior to work or wait to hire till it was in the bank. I have now been being avoided by Shelly (accounts payable) where she doesn’t answer the phone but only sends an email to talk us down on pricing. As per our bid we charge 20% monthly when payment is negligent. Below is her email in response to my missed call and voicemail.

“Hello,

Apologies for the delay in payment. We are able to send a payment today for $xxxx if you can agree to wipe the interest, thank you for your consideration.

Shelly Galbreth”

why didn’t they just pay as soon as the invoice was sent to begin with? I will spread the word to all my people to not work with them. I’m amazed by the lack of communication and the no thanks for getting this work done in a crunch when weather was against us and we were out of season. We still haven’t been paid. And still haven’t got a call back. Very disappointed businesses...
