Great place to learn sumpin about Sumpter's gold rush mining, railroad and town history! For starters, the museum is located in a too cool historical building built as a mercantile in 1899. It's also been a grocery store and tavern among other things. Sumpter Public Library also shares space there and has shelves of local and regional history books to browse. Free admission to museum, open during public library hours.
