This park has many features and the roadway into the park is winding and laden with many speed bumps. Since there are numerous fields of many types (football, baseball, soccer) there is often a bit of traffic on game days. There is a community center with basketball indoors and there is outdoor basketball as well. A pond sits across the main road from the community center. There are several trails that wind throughout the park. Most notable are the Suwanee Greenway and Ivey Creek Greenway which are connected. As such this park constitutes the northernmost set of trailheads for both of these trails. The trails are suitable for bike and hike and are quite scenic with some swampy lowlands interspersed with forested regions. They consist of portions made of wood (boardwalks), asphalt and concrete. Again the parking for the trailheads is normally adequate but it can be a 3 minute drive from the entrance to the back parking lot which is near a modern playground and the best entrance to the Greenway trailhead. On game days be forewarned that the drive can increase significantly above 5 minutes. Election days can add a lot of traffic around the Community...

My favorite part about this park are the trails they offer. The park offers one that loops around the park with smaller trails dispersed here and there. There is also the Suwanee Greenway, all very good trails.
Gwinnett recently installed a new playground in this park where Suwanee Greenway start, and it is pretty nice.
They also have a building designated for public events and gathering.
I have not used any of the playing fields, but there are soccer games that often occurs here. they also have baseball/softball fields.
Overall one of the best...
Read moreA large park with several entrances to walking trails - some paved, some natural, some boardwalk. Plenty of marshy area with water and shorebirds, though on my latest visit, despite very heavy rains a couple of days prior, the water level was extremely low, plenty of oil slicks and algae resulting in a bit of a stench. Plenty of ducks, geese, herons and killdeer as well as plenty of songbirds. Sadly, the water by the viewing platform is littered with lures, fishing wire and all sorts of plastic debris. I wonder if this gorgeous-when-alive large specimen died from becoming entangled in the lines. It is the one thing I wish this park...
