Baxter State Park Visitor Center — Attraction in T2 R9 WELS

Catch a few glimpses of Katahdin on the way in. Once at the toll gate, prepare for tight roads that are gravel and washboard. There are several ponds to see and walk around to look for Moose and other wildlife. Unfortunately, it was warm, and we didn't see any moose moving around. A regular car is sufficient, but be careful going on turns as some people are careless. Several vehicles had to be towed out the day we were there...

We loved going and exploring the park. We stayed in south branch pond campground, hiking, canoed and swam in the pond. We sat on the deck at night and looked at the stars. It was a great night to see the milky way and catch a few shooting...
