One of the best things we did while exploring Maine! Stop at the little ranger station and ask to rent a canoe $2/hour. They are so helpful and also helped us pick a hike for our family. Paddle to explore the pond (more like a lake size) while taking in views of the amazing mt. katahdin! Moose sighting are popular here although we did not see any. Perfect mid June 2021 day not any bugs.

Beautiful pond at the base of Mount Katahdin. Kayak launch on Lower Togue Pond required a short port down a dirt bank to a small gravel/rocky shoreline. The pond is close to the entrance to Baxter State Park, but the park entrance fee isn't required to use the pond. Toilet and parking are free and near by.

Free parking, crystal clear water, and the best views in the state. Highly recommend a visit and friendly picnic! People were also swimming in the cool water as well so a good place to relax. Take In-Take Out style of course. Also out houses nearby as well!

At the edge of Baxter State Park in Maine USA, this pristine location is well worth the drive. The pond offers paddle craft a great spot to enjoy the views, as well as swimming, cookouts, picnics, and hiking opportunities. My daughter and I have made this a regular destination for Father's Day several years running now. It is a great place to relax, see wildlife, hear the loons, and do a bit of fly fishing. If you're going to Baxter stop at Togue Pond and stretch...
