I love this place the scenery is beautiful no matter what time of year. Its a great place to take in the fresh air, admire the view and clear your thoughts. This afternoon I was passing by after a dr appt. I decided to stop and take a few photos because it was a beautiful day. The park was packed. Not once did I get out of my car I only had my window cracked & my sun roof open . As I was taking photos someone was playing obnoxious thumping music for some time. Eventually they left. Here's why the low ☆s. I am a smoker to my knowledge it is or will be illegal to smoke my cigarettes in a public park as it could offend someone &/or perhaps there may be someone allergic so I just don't do it even prior to the law. I try to respect others feelings. I began to smell something strange. The more I smelled it it smelled like Marijuana. Now I am not opposed to others being 420 friendly, I am not. It makes me feel horrible. I was gagging and eventually vomited. Before I vomited, I proceeded to close everything in my car hoping it would go away , but didn't and this caused me to leave the park. This is not acceptable. Last I checked it is not legal to smoke weed in the park and certainly it is illegal to drive under the influence. You folks desperately need some type of police or security presents at the park .It is very unfortunate that others feel they have to vacate a public park and its tranquility for someone elses wrong doing & that is so selfish of those ppl to just puff puff pass all day . I did get...
Read moreBeautiful waterfront park in Tacoma. Ample parking available, and this is the center of activity as well; close to the Old Tacoma area. The park and the pier provide great views of Mt. Reinier. Nice restaurants available in the area. I drove further up to the beautiful Point Defiance Park and also walked down to the Owen Beach. Good Mt. Reinier views from the Owen Beach as well. I had some fresh fish and chips with a nice, light beer at ‘The Spar’ restaurant in the old town area. Overall, the park and the neighboring areas make up a great day-trip from the Seattle area; however, recreational options might be limited here. A one-time-see area for sure. Not bad for...
