First off, I am not one to complain. I much prefer to provide feedback on positive experiences! I wish this was the case. My wife and I traveled up from Vancouver, WA as we are both playing in a pool (billiards) tournament not far from here. Not only that, it was a chance for us to get out of town for the weekend after both having stressful past few months of work. So really, this was a vacation for both of us that involved one of our favorite activities. Once we got checked into our hotel, it was time to decide on dinner. After browsing "restaurants near me" we had 3 choices locked in. Being that this restaurant was less than a mile away, and had a good variety of options, we chose the Ram. I should've known from the moment that we were seated. The table was sticky! We were greeted by a "waiter" that was unable to even look up at us as we ordered drinks and an appetizer. The appetizer and drinks were served relatively quickly. Nothing to write home about, but not terrible. For dinner, I ordered a burger and a cup of chowder. The "waiter" asked if I would like my chowder served before dinner to which I said "I'd appreciate that". My wife ordered a French dip. Again, the food came out in a fairly timely manner. However, my chowder came out the same time. Not a big deal. This is where things really turned south. My burger came out, buns soggy and burger cold. I couldn't even take a second bite. The bread on my wife's French dip was hard as a rock. The "waiter" finally came back and I told him I couldn't eat the burger. He quickly had the order replaced. He went ahead and mentioned that the quality of food in the last couple years has gone down hill. Uhhh, okay? Thank you? Shortly after, my replacement burger comes back and the waiter notices that my wife has only taken one bite of her sandwich. I showed him how hard the bread was. He apologized, but did not offer to replace hers, nor was my wife interested in eating anymore. I went ahead and tried to stomach the replacement burger brought to me and it was just....terrible. I know this rant is long, but it just gets....worse. The manager comes up and listens to all the issues we had. He told us that he would comp both the sandwhich and the burger. Cool! Thanks! 20 minutes later the "waiter" comes back with a check. $105.xx!! I asked how that was possible?! He said "well, we comped one of your burgers and the sandwhich" Wait?! What?! We're you expecting me to pay for BOTH the burgers?? The one you replaced and the one that you replaced it with?! "Yes sir, we comped one of them" At that point i was so frustrated and really didnt want to cause a scene so I threw my card on the table, had him run it, and no tip. I am now writing this review at 1am in the morning the day of the tournament (which starts at 9am) that I am supposed to playing in while sitting on the toilet. As Gross as this may sound, I have been peeing out my butt for almost an hour from what could only be food poisoning! This was supposed to be a great weekend for my wife and I and this experience has truly ruined our weekend. I have spent over $1,000.00 for our tournament entry, gas, and lodging. Best believe i will be contacting higher ups. I have NEVER had such a bad experience such as this and I warn ANYONE not to take their chances unless you want to be severely disappointed, or want to sit on the toilet as...
Read moreWe were looking forward to our visit after getting our daughter settled into her new apartment after moving cross country. Ordered a couple of apps, then a couple of burgers and a crab, shrimp and artichoke melt. We're really looking forward to our appetizers (Nachos and Armadillo Eggs) but our sandwiches showed up before the appetizers.
Things happen, we get it but the restaurant wasn't very busy at 5 PM this evening. The food was delivered and we were a bit puzzled and let the person delivering the food know we had appetizers but dove into our burgers and sandwich melt because we were starving. He left the food and said he would check.
The waitress came by and dropped off some ketchup several minutes after someone dropped off our food and asked if we still wanted them but we were already half way done with the main course so it was kind of a mute point by then.
I guess the most frustrating thing was that nobody from management came by to apologize. The bald guy on expo that appeared to be the manager looked over a couple of times and watched us walk out of the building, but never made any attempt to apologize.
Nothing, notta, and left a bad taste in my mouth and I don't generally ever post a bad review, I just don't post. In this case I think my expectations of such a popular place were much higher and we were disappointed that nobody seemed to care that the "overall experience" was basically ruined because the most important person in the kitchen who appeared to be the manager, didn't ensure the meal was executed correctly and then when they realized they made a mistake made absolutely no effort to apologize.
It would have been super simple to have come over, said hi, sorry, and we would have understood things happen as we are very reasonable people.
Instead, I have to go to be frustrated because someone didn't do something so very simple.
On the plus side the burgers, fries, and sandwich were...
Read moreThe RAM Restaurant & Brewery was an okay experience. I went in with much higher hopes and was a bit disappointed by my experience.
My husband and I went for dinner a little earlier, when Google shared that they wouldn't be as busy. When we got there, the parking lot was packed. We finally found parking and made it into the restaurant. We were greeted by the hostesses and they asked our preference for where to sit. We asked for patio seating as the restaurant is right on the water and has incredible views.
The hostess sat us at a waterfront table and immediately asked us what drinks we wanted and got them to us, sharing that our waiter would be with us soon.
We chatted and waited a bit for the waiter to come. We then ordered our food. We asked for two sandwiches and an appetizer. The wait for the food was about 20 minutes during off peak hours. Our waiter forgot to bring us our appetizer and we ended up eating part of it as a side to our meal.
The appetizer was a bit cold by the time we got it and the burgers were interesting. Part of my burger was a bit over cooked and some of it was a bit undercooked. The lettuce and tomato were layered under the burger so when it arrived at the table, the lettuce was cooked through, mushy, wet, and unappealing. Same goes for the tomato. It made the bottom bun sopping and not easy to hold the burger. I didn't end up eating much of the burger as I had lost my appetite.
On the other hand, the fries were served ripping hot, well seasoned, and had a great crunch to them.
My husband asked for a well done burger and he enjoyed his meal. I would have enjoyed a more consistent experience between the two of us.
While on my trip, we will not be returning to the RAM Restaurant & Brewery. I wouldn't recommend this to any of my friends and do not want to come back to try...
