Verlo Playfield — Attraction in Tacoma

Good spray park. Toys are slowly going away as they break, but it's only a couple. Basketball court is pretty large and lots of grass area with minimal seating and a few trees for shade. Beware that people will throw BBQs and parties and it can get crowded. The covered small area is nice if you can get to it in the morning before someone else claims it for a party, but you cannot reserve this area. Along with some of these loud parties, smokers, weed smokers, very loud music with swearing a couple times or more a year. Add long as you like your area here and don't care about an ok play area for kids with a decent splash park,...

Water park is okay. The kids playground isn't anything special. If this park wasn't within walking distance of my home I wouldn't ever go, but sometimes it's just the easiest. My daughter does seem to have fun there though, but she just loves to get outside and go to parks. The restrooms are rarely open, but it does have a big open field for dogs to run in, there aren't any fences on northern and southern sides though. I think there's only a couple tables to sit down at and a little covered area by bathrooms. I have seen a lot of parents have parties there and have bouncy houses set up though so...

Verlo Park (formerly McKinley Park) has a lot to offer. Multi-use play field which is well used by soccer teams and family baseball games. The playground is nice and was upgraded several years ago. There is a basketball court. There are built in metal tables and benches and a splash park during the summer months. There are plenty of shade trees you can picnic under and there are plenty of trash cans. The park is clean for the most part.
