Bears are very active this summer. I personally was with 20 feet of 2 of them. One bear was in a parking lot when I left a friend's campsite at 11:45 pm. The next night one was in my campsite at 4:15 am waking us up trying to open my secured cooler. The second bear did not want to leave and let us go back to sleep. Other friend's saw other bears mostly at night, but a few during the day.
Our group goes to Sugar Pine Point every year. We love it. You can walk to a beach. It is a short drive to other beaches, some are included with camping fees. There many other activities too. There were very few mosquitoes. I guess they have been replaced by bears.
