Review of the 2021 Summit County Fair: Corona has been hard on many people and limited venues are opening up as things return to "normal"; the Summut County Fair is one of them. I used to love going to open markets, fairs, festivals, etc. This was actually my first time attending the County fair this year... And I learned I will never attend one again after the experience I had. The fair grounds is large but where they set up the attractions was small and confined. The turn out of people at this event was astronomical and there wasnt enough room to keep a safe distance from other fair goers. Lines for the concession stands and rides were beyond ridiculous. The average weight for a ride was 2 hours in line, with no structure to the line so people would cut in left and right, extending the wait time. The concession stands were of poor quality, poor sanitation, and highly priced. I was stung by bees (yes, plural) while standing in line for a $7 lemonade that was just watered down lemon juice with no sugar. The only highlight, if I must give one, was the small circus act that was entertaining the fair. They had dogs performing acts, the children had a routine, tight rope act, and then a small motorcross routine. The down fall was the seating was small and limited so people were crowded together... Beyond this, there was a building for "vendors" and animals which were a disappointment. Which "disappointment" was the overall feeling for the whole fair. After spending $50 on myself alone to have the "full experience" of the fair, I realized I should have saved my money to actually have fun...

It’s a decent venue, but nothing to write home about. The indoor arena is big enough to do vendor shows, but the monster trucks feel cramped and the demolition durby got too smoked out without good ventilation.

My most recent visit was the summit county fair, which most boasts the usual fried food, spinning rides, and rigged carnival games. Vendors mostly pushing over priced Chinese crap with LEDs, but for $10 the kids were happy with their souvenirs and at the same cost of a lemonade it was reasonably priced. In addition to the main venue arena, there is a straight track they run truck pulls on when we were there which is loud and exciting even if you didn’t spring for the extra ticket.

Overall the experience was enjoyable with enough to do close together so you are not walking miles to cover the whole fair. Be warned tho, not ever event is the same…. I recently went to visit the “traveling circus” which sounded great until we got there and found a small tent in the parking lot. Ticket price was high, then you had to pay additional to enjoy any of the limited attractions. We turned around and left and got ice cream and went to the playground for twice as much fun at a...
