Honestly I wish I had taken some pictures while I was there but my phone was almost dead so I had left it in the car to charge. This park is quite beautiful I grew up going here quite often during the summer to go swimming. I also have hiked here a few times during the fall during the metro parks fall hiking spree that they do when I was younger. You should definitely go here if you have a family. It's a nice place to go to just relax or grill out and enjoy the water or a hike or both. During the summer they used to offer like season passes for fairly cheap I'm not sure if entry is just free now or if you still have to pay a little to get in during the summer months. If you do still have to pay and you plan on coming often I would just get the season pass though growing up that's what my mom used to do instead of paying each time we went. They also have a food court during the summer season as well so you don't necessarily need to bring food if you don't want to but it's always fun to bring a cooler with drinks and stuff for sandwiches instead of spending money. Enjoy your time here if you...

It has multiple restrooms, playgrounds, trailheads, parking lots, picnic areas and scenery. I am unsure if they still offer swimming, but they used to. They even had a concession stand at one point in time. Either way, this is a good park to go if you're unsure what kind of park experience you're craving. Especially for the little ones.
If playgrounds aren't the solution or you're an adult with issues hiking or just looking for a relaxing stroll. The walking paths are mostly shaded easy to navigate trails with very little hardcore hiking involved. There are some really interesting water features to observe along the creek too. Like a unique old miniature dam and water fall system, a lake to sit by and much more. I will upload some photos as I find them or take some more next time we go. Words don't give it...
Β Β Β Read moreWow! Last time I was here I was a child 4 maybe 5yrs old (now a gentle 50+). I can still remember swimming with my brothers and parents and family members I was so happy to see that grills and picnic tables are available and a few pavilions too, two play grounds outdoor bathhouses and medical center, life guards and park rangers, fantastic walking trails! Several ponds along the tow path too. 5$ admission fee for the Monroe Falls swimming beach/lake. Tow path trails are free, near the parking lot they do have outdoor toilets and picnic tables. As for the naysayers I can admit this, it's a lake (not the florida keys with crystal clear water), it's a lake for a fun day of relaxing, grilling and enjoying nature. . While walking both along the beach I didn't see any condoms or needles, garbage or plastic bags in the water or the trees. Kudos for keeping it clean! Go outside! Take...
