Drove from North Tampa to check out MacDill 48 Park. We normally walk the Upper Tampa Bay bike trail and want to try something new. My girls brought their bikes, and we accomplished the paved and unpaved trails.
It was a beautiful day, and we made it a couple of miles round trip before it started to rain for the afternoon.
There are plenty of benches and spots to relax. You can walk or ride the bike bath to the end and then drop your bike off to hit the trail. It doesn't circle back. You need to get on pavement again to get back to your bike
There is limited parking on the side, and a lot more by the baseball fields. Great...
Read moreThe path is very short and there's a lot of locals/family's that have their own routine and any newcomers probably won't get the same friendly courteous feeling that other public places offer. Otherwise, definitely a hidden gem of smooth pavement-- rollerblading would be a great idea. It closes at 6pm-- not at sunset so keep that in mind. The best parking is off Interbay, Google Maps will show entrances that are not vehicle parking or vehicle...
