I have been attending this Ren Faire for the past six years and I'm very disappointed in how it turned out this year. It was waaayyy too crowded. First of all traffic was so bad, that the busses picking up the attendees were backed up and took forever getting to designated parking areas to pick everyone up. People got tired of waiting so, they opted to walk across an open field to take a 25 minute walk to the Ren Faire. People who prepaid for their tickets online had to wait in much longer lines as opposed to those walking up to the gate to buy tickets there. Once in, it was shoulder to shoulder crowding with little space to move around. For some reason people came to the festival together in large groups of 10 to even 20, especially college aged adults. People were inconsiderate during the shows standing in front of you, especially if they know they are taller than you are. Browsing the vendors booths and shops were impossible due to the crowding issues. Getting anything to eat or drink was impossible, because of the overcrowding and never ending lines. Because of that, I left hungry and nearly dehydrated. In the years I have been here, I had never seen it this phenomenally crowded. After two hours of dealing with this and not having any fun, I gave up and went home. It was either that, or allow my anxiety to be triggered by this. I can only imagine what it was like for those who tried to leave after the event was closed. I hope the event and venue organizers will take what I say into consideration. My suggestion would be to limit sales tickets per day, or perhaps consider expanding and relocating to a larger location with more space. I'm not sure if I will consider returning to this...
Β Β Β Read moreThe Lady of the Lakes Renaissance Faire is a wonderful escape into another time. From the moment you step through the gates, you are surrounded by the sounds of laughter, clashing swords, and lively music that bring the medieval world to life. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with performers who clearly love what they do and artisans who pour genuine craft into every booth.
The fairgrounds are well laid out, with shaded areas, plenty of food options, and a good mix of entertainment from jousting and comedy shows to live music and blacksmith demonstrations. The vendors are friendly, the costumes are impressive, and there is something for everyone whether you are a long-time faire-goer or a first-timer.
The food is also a highlight. Turkey legs, roasted nuts, and mead are staples, but local vendors like Los Reyes Mexican Grill nearby make it easy to enjoy a full day without spending too much.
What stands out most is the community feel. Everyone, from the knights to the shopkeepers, makes you feel part of the story. It is the kind of place where you can laugh, shop, eat, and forget about the modern world for a while.
The Lady of the Lakes Renaissance Faire is a perfect blend of charm, creativity, and authenticity. Whether you come for the crafts, the food, or the fantasy, it is well worth the visit and once you go, you will want to make it a...
Β Β Β Read morePretty terrific Ren Faire for the central Florida area. We did the pub crawl which is a hilarious good time. The Black Velvet Band leads it and does a fantastic job. Several shows throughout the faire keep entertainment regularly available and a variety of shopping booths make it to where you could show up in plain clothes and leave looking like a viking, king, wizard, fairy or many other things. The percentage of themed apparel attendees is also pretty high relative to other Ren faires I've attended. Parking can load up early, and parking lot dressing is nearly always needed with various accessories, so I tend to show up 30-45 minutes before opening to ensure decent parking, but they do have an overflow lot and transport for those that arrive later. Restrooms are scattered around the area permitting fairly convenient access. Some decent food options exist, but the lines can run a bit long, so pick your dining times away from the traditional hours if you're looking to...
