My husband and I were there yesterday. We met with a super cool employee who guided us thru their amazing wine variety and we really enjoyed their product. We also learned about how much of owners envolvement there is on production and we really loved that as well. While at the winery we found our that the other owner was there, then we immediately wanted to thank them for creating all tobose products of the ppl to enjoy. The day went on and it got cold out, so y hisband and I we went inside and eventually we met the owner. I approached to her to thank her in person for their efforts on creating such extraordinary products and future business success. We were told by one of her employees that she was one of the owners(wife) and I felt like even more special thay she was there.
I then decided to come up and I was met with an extended hand, fingers up, as if you were met with a traffic police officer at stop sign. She made me feel little, insignificant and unwelcome. I still said kind worlds while thanking her for their business and it went out thru her other ear. My husband and I are self made multi millionaires. We are very humble and down to earth, I am coming from a third world country and my husband from a struggling family in Pittsburgh. We would never push anyone away, specially in a business or profesional setting. She made me feel unwelcome in so many ways, not to mention rejection. Physical rejection from a single hand shake is the ultimate sign of rudeness and rejection. Not sure what it was, maybe because we are a same gender couple or maybe she was not in her right mind space. Anyways, we canceled our membership there as we do not want to bring business to that type...
Read moreWe have been searching for an intimate winery that makes outstanding wine and the people behind the label are passionate about their wines they create. Only 2.5 miles from our house sits Lorenzi Estate Vineyards. No bridal parties, no gals with boots and tiaras, no party buses and no loud music. Just serious oenophiles enjoying outstanding juice in a relaxed environment. Our visit included tasting through 8-10 of their wines, introduction of staff and one of the owners and about 3 hours of pure enjoyment. Our day ended with us becoming part of their wine family. The site is gorgeous, restrooms that deserve to be photographed and a winemaker that continues to strive for perfection. And let's not leave out our fantastic wine educator, Tammy. She was friendly, engaging and knew her stuff. I had almost given up on Temecula wineries until our visit to Lorenzi Estate Vineyards. We have literally visited hundreds of wineries throughout the world so for this little slice of paradise to standout is enough reason to visit. Provide more comfortable seating and I might never leave. Truly a...
Read moreI had the pleasure of meeting Don here at the Barrel Tasting this past weekend. We were lucky to come here because it was one of the two wineries that required a reservation. Of course on the day of the event, I tried to reserve and cannot find the page. Luckily for us, the nice lady in the front told us there were 2 people who did not show up before us.
At the barrel tasting event, they had just mixed a Bourdeaux the week before. I jokingly said that if I really liked it, it's going to suck because it's going to be bottled in 2 years. You know what? It was the best I've had that whole Saturday and Don also poured us a 2011 Syrah here which was excellent as well. Both wines were full bodied, has notes of licorish, raspberries. I've never made it here before and now, I think I will make this a must stop in my Temecula wine travels.
Thanks Don and to the lady in the front for giving me the opportunity to try your award...
