If you are in the area, you must check out Bee Rock Overlook! This popular local spot is tucked away in the small town of Monterey, Tennessee and right off of I-40. This is a great place to not only see but also stay a while! The overlook point is a wide area with multi-layered smooth ledges. It’s a great place to sit, hang out, read/write, take photos, drink coffee, etc. Scenic Bee Rock Overlook This panoramic overlook is located by The Garden Inn Bed and Breakfast at Bee Rock. Parking is available; however, the signage is limited, and the parking area will be at the end of the dead end road. The path is located behind the old blue building you will park in front of. The path leading to the bluff is cleared and easily navigated. Walk the semi-straight and well-worn 0.6 mile path to the overlook and be greeted by the bluff’s edge and miles and miles of gorgeous Tennessee hills and valleys. Be sure to watch your step and grab the little ones because there are no ropes or rails. This place is dog-friendly so bring your best friend too! Any season is a great time to go especially in the fall! With all the beautiful colors in autumn, you’ll be sure to capture a postcard worthy image. Stay a night of two at The Garden Inn Bed and Breakfast at Bee Rock! This venue is perched on the edge of the Cumberland Plateau – literally! Looking for other cool spots to check out? Side note: I love our natural spots like this one. Please, please if you visit: keep it cleaner than it was before you arrived. I’m noticing graffiti piling up on the rocks & occasionally trash. The people who work to maintain these natural wonders are kind and accepting of all. (I’m not affiliated w/ them, but I know) I hope we can continuously show them that their...
Read moreGPS directions were a little off but we just followed the little dirt road to the end, to the parking lot. There is a small walk to get to the Overlook. There are tree roots and rocks sticking out. There is a small climb over a rock formation, which I did going in...but on the way out I took the trail to the left, much easier and there is a slight step down. The scenery is absolutely beautiful. ❤ I hit on a day that the sky was blue, the sun was shining and the trees were showing off their Fall colors. There is no railing, it is all open. Just be smart and don't get too close...
