The guy who says he owns this place is the rudest person I have ever encountered. I was confused where the check in was as there was 2 different buildings and lots of cars and not to mention I'm from Florida. So I parker my van with some other cars and was walking with my 4 young kids all under 5 years old and was looking for the check in building and this guy came driving up and carried on and on, "is that your van?" I said yes and he went off saying "this is private property and you are going to mark up my grass" and mind you I was parked on the side of the road on gravel and rocks along with 15 other cars. He continued on and on about his property and how in 18 years noone has ever parked there and several more snoody comments. So needless to say I didn't continue looking for check in. I immediately felt so unwelcome and humiliated. I cannot believe that he could treat a mother and her children like this. I've never had a man be so inconsiderate to my children and I. You'd think he would have welcomed me and showed my children and I the way. No wonder why the place looked empty and had no guests. The owner probably ran them off as well he needs a lesson on hospitality and how to be...
Read moreMy wife and I were looking for a unique place to stay that wasn’t too far from the Virgin Falls Natural Area. There aren’t many hotel choices nearby and a friend suggested The Garden Inn. The reservation process was simple, and the website was easy to navigate allowing us to pick the room of our choice. When we arrived, the owner met us kindly at the door and gave us a short tour of the inn and showed us to our room. The room was nice, very clean, and comfortable with windows that open to take in the fresh air and night sounds of the forest. We had one of the rooms at the end of the hall and the Wi-Fi signal was weak, but not an issue since cellular reception is good in the area. Breakfast was delicious with some of the best sausage we’ve ever had. The Bee Rock Overlook is a short, easy walk from the inn and was an unexpected bonus to staying at the inn. Monterey is close-by with some fast-food choices and a good Mexican restaurant, Los Agaves, on the downtown strip. Highly recommended for a couple’s getaway or a unique place to stay while traveling...
Read moreWe were made very welcome by Mike and Mirtha at their charming B&B. We stayed for just one night and brought a picnic supper with us to enjoy on their awesome deck. The team helped us with crockery and glasses for our meal, so we could enjoy the sundown views in comfort. Breakfast was fabulous, the party table a great idea for those happy to chat with other guests (we were), there were other couples opting for a quiet table on their own too. |Our room was spotless, bed comfortable, the whole place is charming, we would happily return. It would have been lovely to be able to slide open the bug screens to fully appreciate the amazing view from the bedroom windows and being out of our UK time-zone, we would have liked a way of making tea/coffee in the room before coming down to breakfast at 8 am/8:30 :-). But the fresh fruit starter and very tasty cooked breakfast plus views from the deck made up for these minor points. The short walk to Bee Rock Overlook is a...
