I have been visiting this area since the mid 90s. Back then and for years to follow, I can't recall a Gatekeeper being on site. This road is currently in the worst condition I've ever seen it in and if you dont have a truck, you can't reach the designated parking area in a car. We had to park on the hill along with another car that could not make it either. The gatekeeper wants you to leave if you dont park down there and the guy comes up to our vehicles while we are a few hundred yards away and lays on the horn and stays there like we have been summoned and are supposed to answer to him. He finally left. YOU NEED TO FIRST, FIX THIS SORRY ROAD AND SECOND, PUT THE STUPID GATE AT THE PARKING AREA INSTEAD OF AT THE MAIN ROAD. The gate was over two hours away from being closed, we had plenty of time. Anybody should be able to park ANYWHERE along that road as long as they are not in the way, which we weren't. The property is owned by the state, not the angry gatekeeper. I don't appreciate being harrassed. PEOPLE CANT REACH THE PARKING AREA BECAUSE YOUR ROAD IS A PIECE OF HILLBILLY JUNK SO LEAVE THEM ALONE IF THEY PARK...

Read moreBeautiful! Fairly easy and flat trail to start but gets more challenging after crossing the metal bridge. Appropriate footwear recommended thereafter. Waterfall was lovely! A few obstructions on the trail and some muddy areas due to recent rain. Not very busy. Trail suitable for dogs on lead. Overall a lovely trail, not very busy. Pretty small parking area so go early...
