Beautiful, peaceful, easy trail. Bridges are starting to weather a bit, but are still safe. Great trail for the whole family to get out. 3 different options to hike either the whole trail out and back for around 13.5 miles, the paved route for around 9 miles (there you get all the bridges and water crossings) or the gravel half for about 5 miles (there you get some really neat rock wall cutouts.

We are blessed with seven miles of the most beautiful trails following the Cumberland river. I love the wonderful colors in the fall, the abundant waterfowl in the winter, the unbelievable wild flowers in the spring and the welcome shade in the summer. If you are lucky, bald eagle and osprey sightings are not uncommon.

The trails are great with a lot of options. It is a bit disheartening when “Friends of the Cumberland Trail,” FB group set up their fund-raising t-shirts and tables right in the middle of the handicapped spots. This trail is gorgeous though. This FB group also doesn’t like it when you post about real trail sightings such as snakes. They actually removed a post about this for no reason other than they don’t want to “scare anyone away.” It’s a...

This is a wonderful place to do family biking without the worry of being ran over by a car. These trails have great views of water features such a the river, side canals... waterfowl are abundant and easily observed from the trails that are situated high above the birds habitat. Also, plenty of fish, turtles to see. A couple told me that they heard that a bald eagle had been spotted on the trail but had not seen...

This is a great trail by the river with beautiful scenery. The trail is a little rough in areas. There is a graveled trail that leads down to a camping area. There is a paved one on the other side of the road. Parking was a little crowded. We did see a Cottonmouth snake on the trail which was super cool. Other than the roughness of the trail in spots we loved it. We will...
