So sad when I was younger this place was what made me love Halloween. The story is not backed with pride having verdun walking around with his wife and friends some exact props from when I was 14 .. alot I mean all of them nothing new what the heck.. I'm 33 now. They were cool when I was younger bc it was presumed and prepared with the history of it being millions of dollars of movie props. Way to much harmful gasses produced inside tight enclosed areas it's been three days and my throat still hurts. The staff were un welcoming the actors were more passionate than the staff working they would not break character and had to be the highlight. Though the last walkthrough inched a staff follow us asking each actor if they needed water and making jokes that was not a cool experience I paid good money she should keep distance from guest very un professional. Some were amazing and very convincing. There used to be a maze through the grave hard to the manor with electronic giant dragons you would see from the Haunted House expo in California nothing!!!! Same mean everywhere staff different day cutting corners should be their new name!!! No flames on the house I remember seeing it from the road driving there bragging to my wife how cool it is and it warms the cold air with the burst of giant flames..... no flames no burst. What the heck are you serious?????????????????????? Muddy as hell it's a safety issue bc they are cheap and dont lay down small rock gravel for traction... they have you sign a waiver letting you know signing allows the to free themselves from any deaths or accidents what the heck verdon manor never did that before that show you what kind of company they are running. Ton of staff no customer service the concession stand was something from a skating rink it's a joke. Run down for real they took away granny and her awesome house it's still there no clown bungie from the ceiling remember the hayride that was a few years back now... this was sat and their were more people at the truck stop than there. I don't wonder why I will not be reliving a cool experience I looked forward to as a kid last time i came was 5 years ago. Remember when the manor opened to a gift shop after the walk through in the manor ...mask costumes movie makeup souvenirs what the heck I'm heart broken for real enough to reach out to the OGs of thrillvania no magic show no Cassandra not one damn wolf smh oh yeah one in the beginning he was a prop an the table feast I got to pics that were cool that was the best part I guess to closing the chapter cant wait to go to one the owner actually cares about a quality huant six flags used to be below these guys now they are about as good as a backyard overpriced old props haunt felt very unsafe and actors were eager to touch you just saying if you dont like be run up on a tight space a chest chest bumped its gonna happen this is not a mckany manor kids just bc we sign waiver does not mean it's ok to run up and bully theres a fine line I felt harrassed not scared a few time tons of cops just stood there watching. Wanted to have fun felt let down. I'm not that hard to please I felt the needed a honest experienced thrillvania lover played and robbed I used a coupon and saved $4 lmao oh yeah dont get a fast pass jnwtched many people...
Read moreI have not visited the park since Pre-Covid restrictions. They have kept the same model that they used to handle the situation, having guests remain in the car and controlling the flow of patrons. At this point in Texas with everyone moving here and the over population, it really is necessary if you want to actually enjoy what you paid for…which is to get scared. You aren’t thrown into hallways and corridors with large groups of people, the flow rarely gets backed up due to someone becoming to frightened to continue walking through the attraction, and the best part is the actors don’t break character to talk to you. When visiting other local haunts within the past four years, many of the actors hired are really too immature to handle the job. We’d walk through and they would compliment my fiancés hair or eyes, state that they like my shirt. They would love bomb us when they should be scaring us. Banter is great when you make it fit the character…Hell, Freddy Krueger was the king of one liners. It should be used sparingly and if the scare calls for it. What they have done with the trail in 2024 is by far the most impressive. The park finally feels almost 100% complete. For years there would be debate about what the mountain of dirt would become, if it would be expanding with another attraction, etc…. The trail is a good fifteen minute walk that could easily turn into twenty with how well they control the flow of guests. The use of lighting is incredibly creative because everything turns into silhouette and shadow. This is probably the part where signing a waiver comes into play because there are parts that are pitch black and incredibly silent that build up to some of the best scares I have experienced in my adult life. Whomever is responsible for the last two parts of this attraction, chefs kiss. When I say the park finally feels 100% complete, it’s so many acres that keeping things spread out with the patron flow control can make it feel a little empty. There are sections where you feel like something might still be under construction or there are spots where you can tell where something used to be, but they haven’t decided what to do with it. It doesn’t take away anything from the experience, it just confuses you because you feel like the entire visit is all about the exploration, so it leaves a lot of questions. You get spoiled because you are looking for more due to how big the area is. When you leave, you appreciate how they have decided to manage the haunt today in a different kind of Texas than it was with Lance Pope’s Verdun Manor in 1996 and the early 2000’s of Thrillvania. You get your moneys worth...
Read moreA group of 5 us bought the VIP tickets for opening night this year online the night before. We drove over 2 hours to get there. The tickets said our VIP times were between 8:30 and 9. This was opening night that we were attending. We printed our tickets and signed them for when we arrived. Once we arrived we pulled in and there is a $10 parking charge. They then tell you you need to text a number and you will receive a txt when you can get in line. Once you are in line they have you sign a waver on the computer (remember we already signed it on our paper tickets they had us print). Out of about 7 employees we saw there was one that was friendly that was on the trail we ran into (this does not count those that were dressed up). Very disappointed no thanks, have a good time, how are you, nothing at all. Our VIP pass was really a waste of money. There were no real lines once inside and very few people dressed in the houses or trail that were dressed up. While entering the clown house you are suppose to get glasses to wear but we were told they were not giving them out because there is no one to collect them when you exit the clown house. Rather disappointing when you don't get what you pay for. If you're not going to use them put them away so people will not ask. The mansion was pretty cool and well decorated but once again not a lot of people dressed up. Those they are dressed up are trying to do their best though. After we exited the mansion we stopped to get something from the concession stand but we were told they did not have the items. Now remember, this is opening night and we were pretty much the first ones there. The guy was not friendly, he did not say sorry or anything, He just said we don't have it and went back to what he was doing. We were really excited about this place nd we were even more disappointed. There are many other places that are better then this, cost less, friendlier staff, you don't have to pay for parking and where you feel like they are not there just to get your money. Maybe it was just an off night with it being opening night but it seemed like...
