Such a beautiful lighthouse on this lil island! It has some very cool history behind it. Wish it was open for tours, I’d love to see the inside and am sure many others would agree. Hopefully one day!! But to anyone visiting Bolivar Peninsula, make sure to get a photo of this!

The lighthouse is easy to find if you take the free ferry from Galveston. It is on private property so you can either stop on the northbound roadside or turn into the road on the west just past the lighthouse. Don’t go past the gate. The best view is on the roadside.

The light house has an interesting history, with details found on historical markers across the way at the fort park. But the area around the lighthouse seemed unaccessible when I visited. Cool nonetheless!

I love seeing the Lighthouse when we go down. There have been Christmas lights on it since they started restoring it (when the top came off) It is so cool that it is on some of the top most historical landmarks in Texas. I can't wait to see it when it is done being restored! (I am writing this...
