Fall Creek Vineyards was located across from the Salt Lick BBQ at the intersection of FM 1826 and FM 967. I have always wanted to visit this place to see what was behind their gates. I am not a wine enthusiast who visits vineries often but I do enjoy drinking wine, and with all the wineries located near me I am exploring one at a time.
I drove in and was greeted by pink flamingos and a lush landscape with vines growing all around. It was a bit scenic and expect what a wineries should look like as a first impression. Upon parking I noticed plants under huge oak trees for sale including fruit trees like lemon and grapefruit. Some already had large ones hanging on them.
I entered the place and was greeted very nice by a staff member and told then I wanted to purchase a bottle of white and rosé wine. I was poured a few samples and did some wine tasting. This process was designed for a quick selection for bottle buying but had the option of sitting at a table, and have a more relaxing tasting experience while enjoying the outdoor scenery. I selected my choices.
I was told the whole process of wine making was done in Texas starting from growing the grapes to bottling. It was not a large winery but his place seemed to be an older ranch house transitioned into a place for wine tasting and event planning. There was even a swimming pool in the back and beautiful gardens in the front and back. I was just very organized with tranquility and with a friendly staff to make you feel...

The scenery is beautiful. We wanted to enjoy a beautiful Saturday outdoors in driftwood with our fur baby.
We made reservations and brought our dog. As soon as I mentioned that we had a dog we were told to find a table outside. Outdoor seating was limited, and when we we tried to check with a staff member if we could sit at the one table we were able to spot, she said the table was for reservations. We told her that we had reservations said she would be right back only for her to tell us she can’t answer the question and that the lady at the front will get back with us. No one did.
Luckily my husband made a couple more rounds and we snagged a table only to be sitting there for a solid 10 minutes before my husband had to grab the gentleman’s attention who was walking around and pouring wine. We thought we made a simple order by asking for the tasting. He literally got everyone else their tastings and came up to us and asked us again what we wanted. Never did he even bring glasses or cleared off the dirty glasses that were in front of us.
Even after this, we sat there for a solid 5 minutes with no customer service. At this point, we...
Read moreMy fiancé and I are getting married in April so we booked the Chardonnay room as our place to stay for that weekend. Two days ago (less than 30 days before our elopement) we received and email from property management saying the owner of the vineyard had a reservation they didn’t know about and they had to cancel our reservation or move it. They also shared another location (not at the vineyard) that was available, but it would be more expensive. Not only did they want to cancel on us, they didn’t even offer to cover the additional cost. This vineyard might be a wonderful place, but sadly we will never know since we won’t be staying here. Luckily we found a place in dripping springs that was even nicer than the vineyard. However, you can understand our frustration with the entire situation. I wouldn’t recommend trying to stay here since double booking seems to...
