They need something other than swings for the kiddos and the ants seriously need to be gotten under control but i love the nature it's got and if you go out there early in the morning u can see the deer n hogs out having breakfast if they upgraded the play grounds and fixed the ant population is definitely give it 4 stars ....5 stars if they go out there a little more often and clean up the trash in and around the huge bbq pit .....if you don't have kids and just need a place to get out of your head this is definitely the place for you and it's a beautiful place to jog or walk but as always remember it's wooded area so always carry something...
Read moreThere are a few neat spots around this park as far as hiking and walking go. The hawk observation deck gives a great view of the area. There is a small observation deck that looks out over the pond. A bit further down, there is a boardwalk near the river that has some gorgeous trees covered in spanish moss. There isn't much in the way of actual trails though. You're mostly just walking on the road. Lots of water around, so be sure to bring bug spray. The mosquitoes are fierce. Read moreGreat place to bird watch. Deer and ducks are used to people they come fairly close for food. Not a lot of shade or covered tables, nice kid playground, restroom was clean but if your a girl or need to go number 2 bring your own toilet paper.
Fishing was iffy. Lots of bites but not much to catch, especially keepers. Big negative, boats pass by at full speed and the lines in the water get dragged by the wake or busted. Lots of underwater trees and debris already, boats make it worse.
