Thatcher Splash Pad — Attraction in Thatcher

When its open during the summer time we have such a blast here! They keep this park fairly clean. It's a great place to have a birthday party or get-together. They have bathrooms ( maintained bathrooms) shaded picnic tables, grass and plenty of room for lots of activities and fun. This park is dog friendly and there are dispensers around the park with doggie baggies ( please clean up your fur babies mess so a non for baby doesn't step in it or try to eat it). The playground is completely shaded right next to the splash pad and has soft foamy ground so there's no chance of getting muddy while you play from the park to the water. There is a water fountain but I would still suggest bringing your own beverages. a great place for a party or just to spend the day or kill some time and enjoy your family and friends. *park has a tall fence separating it from The Busy side of the street, decent parking circling around the back side of the park so you don't have a long walk to get to your table. My kids love going to the splash pad/park. They think the playground is great and I love that the ground is that spongy soft finish without dirt! The splash pad itself is cement which when wet can get pretty slippery. There's a reason they tell you not to run around swimming pools! It's pretty easy to slip. My kids both wore their flip flops. That was great until they took them off. My older boy fell a few minutes after slipping off his shoes and my younger one tried to be like brother. Took his shoes off and tried to take off running. We went here to shoot around the basketball with my son at the basketball court. We enjoyed it a lot but the ball kept bouncing towards the main road and came close to getting driven over. It would help if there was a fence that extended towards the parking area. That would help avoid any injuries to people getting their ball and damages to vehicles.
