I feel like the farm owners care more about their profit than about your experience. Instead of paying an entry fee, you’re expected to whip out your credit card at almost every activity. They don't have a lot of free activities.
The big maze for an adult and child cost us $26. The small maze was cheaper. But they didn't have paper maps for the mazes. They offer you the option to scan a QR code and use the map on your device, which might not always be convenient if you have more than one child who wants to navigate, if your battery is dying, or if you try to keep device use to a minimum during family time. A few checkpoints only have metal posts left and no signs, leaving it up to you to guess their numbers. These are easy fixes, but it seems that the owners don’t want to bother.
The bouncy area is very small and is best for kids five years old and under. There’s scarce seating and almost no shade. They probably don’t want you to hang around for too long. My child spent two minutes on one bouncy attraction and was turned away at the next one due to his age. The bouncy pad had many little kids sitting on it, which was not exactly fun for a nine-year-old, and he didn’t even try it.
When we asked for our $15 back a few minutes after the purchase, we were referred to the information booth and then had to wait for the manager to be called. I explained the situation and showed proof of when we purchased the ticket. Then the manager started asking how many bouncy attractions my child had used, explaining that it was a final sale and that if he had used at least one bouncy attraction, they could not refund us or help us in any other way. They didn’t care at all about leaving us with a positive experience.
We spent over $40 on one maze and the child ticket for the bouncy area. If you decide to do more activities, expect to shell out more than at any other farm in the area. Overall, this pay-for-everything business model with little care for your experience is a deal-breaker...
Read more!!!!DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!! This is the only way to write a review for haunted field of screams. They charge you about $40 for four different "mazes." Sounds like a good deal right? WRONG. Dead friggin wrong!!!!! You should be able to choose which attractions you want to go through. Instead we were charged full price online. When we went in we were told that the wait times were an 1.5 per attraction. It takes hardly anytime to get through the mazes. Just so we're clear that's 4 hours of waiting just to get to each maze. We were told that we could come back and do the other mazes...... well that's great but most people have to plan their outings. We went on 10/26. Now we basically have 3 days to chose from to get our tickets worth. Oh and NO REFUNDS! So not only are you waiting in the cold for 4 plus hours in lines while mediocre teenage actors run around with crappy 90's rubber masked costumes, you are out a ton of money. Now onto the "attractions" We went to carnevil and condemned. carnevil is portrayed as this carnival style maze where clowns are the theme. They succeed on that, but the actors are just God awful. No one really hides in the corn or jumps out. The costumes were really crappy too. Condemned seems really cool as its advertised as this escape room. Well there is no escape room about it. It is not an escape room style anything. At most it has some "saw" movie style decorations and costumes. Still crappy actors. You literally see everyone coming in front of you. We're going to go tonight 10/31 to see if we can somehow get through the other attractions before 10pm WHO THE HELL CLOSES A HAUNTED HOUSE @10PM? They could spend a ton more money on what they've got. Obviously the company that runs this is raking in the cash and not reinvesting in anything. Haunted Field of Screams= an absolute disgrace to the Colorado haunted house scene. Shame...
Read moreI would have left a 5 star review for the haunted house we went to last week. Great staff on the night event but very rude staff during the day. We went here last year and it was a lot of fun and we spent hours taking photos and doing stuff. Yesterday the ladies at the petting zoo (our first stop) were very unfriendly and acted like we were dumb for asking questions. Also acted like we were dumb for not knowing they switched to prepaid cards only. The card they load your money onto wasn't going through with their card machines either and they kept saying I owed a balance, which they figured out luckily. And then the lady at the front said I could take the two kiddos with me to the jumping castle even tho they were about to close that down an hour before they closed offically, I said I didn't want to if they were about to close it down and she assured me I could. So I take them over there and the bouncy castle people had a huge problem with it, even after I explained the situation... So I basically spent money to be argued with when I tried to avoid that due to my earlier interactions and getting a vibe off the staff. And were also very unfriendly and the owner had to approve us going in. The owner seemed nice and understanding but every person except the guy at the mini corn maze had major attitude problems and seemed like they genuinely hated people and their jobs. Anyways we will likely not be coming back again. I don't know how you're going to survive the season with a staff acting so disrespectful and mean and seeming to have no clue what's going on.
Update too, I am seeing there was a wrist band I could have gotten my son too but instead they had me paying for every individual thing and even asked if that was an option and was told no?? I could have saved...
