You will see teenagers/ “wannabes” diving into the pool even when it’s clearly not allowed. .

The hike to the falls was quite short, making it an easy and accessible option for a day trip. However, we found the trail to be less challenging and picturesque than we had anticipated.

The hike itself is an out-and-back route, with a downhill section on the way to the falls and an uphill climb on the way back. While this may not be appealing to everyone, it does provide a good workout and allows you to experience the natural surroundings from different perspectives.

One thing that stood out to us was the prohibition of diving or swimming at the falls. However, we did notice a group of 5-6 boys engaging in cliff jumping for a good two hours during our visit. While this wasn't an issue for us, it's worth noting that some visitors may find this activity appealing and entertaining.

On the plus side, there was ample parking available at the trailhead, and the restrooms in the parking area were clean and well-maintained. This added to the overall convenience and comfort of our visit.

When it comes to the falls themselves, they are located less than a mile from the starting point, which makes it a relatively short distance to reach the main attraction. While Paradise Falls didn't possess the breathtaking beauty we had hoped for, it still showcased a serene and tranquil atmosphere.

In summary, Paradise Falls in California offers a short and easy hike, making it a suitable option for those seeking a quick outdoor excursion. While the trail may lack some of the challenging and picturesque aspects, it provides an opportunity to enjoy nature and unwind. The presence of cliff jumping, although not permitted, can add some excitement for those who are interested. With plenty of parking and clean restrooms, the practical amenities make the visit more comfortable. While it may not be the most remarkable destination, Paradise Falls can still provide a pleasant outing for those looking for a nearby...

The parking lot was near full at around 5:00pm but I was able to find parking. At the parking lot there is also a port-a-potty bathroom if you think you need to unload before the hike.

I spent about 2 minutes in front of the billboard trying to memorize the trail and the turns I needed to take to get to Paradise Falls but in hindsight, this was unnecessary. The trails are really well marked, not to mention this is such a popular trail that there is bound to be someone to ask if you feel you're lost. In addition, there seems to be cell signal (Verizon) all throughout.

I did hear some rangers talking about snakes but I didn't see any on the trail that day, probably again because it's so populated that if there were any snakes around at the beginning of they day, they probably moved away from the trail.

About half way through there is a drinking fountain where the giant teepee is and I think there is also a fountain right near Paradise Falls. If you're cool with drinking from these do yourself an additional favor by leaving the water bottle behind.

This is also a popular area for people with drones so if you don't like that, you've...

Parking: there is a lot for the park and parking in the neighborhoods near by. Should be plenty of parking. I parked in the neighborhood for free. I don't know if the park charges.

No matter where you park you will walk about 1+ mile to get to the waterfall. The way there is mostly downhill. Going back is the hard part uphill. Based on the path you take you can have fewer hills (like avoiding the teepee)

The paths are mostly dirt and rock, some is dirt over partially paved road. You need good shoes because parts are step with loose ground. Parts of the hike are flat and smooth.

There is a drinking fountain near the waterfall. The bathrooms near the fall when I went were closed.

There are a few benches near the Fall, several on the way to them.

To get a direct frontal view of the waterfall you need to jump across the rocks in the stream.

There is a great looking sort of canyon just before the waterfall that feels like it's...

Check out this waterfall hike only 1 hour from Los Angeles 🩵 📍 Paradise falls , Thousand Oaks CA 🚶 2.4-mile round-trip hike from the main parking lot. You can add on to your day by including the Indian creek, Indian cave, and lizard rock trail. This trail is considered moderate because you are going downhill in meaning to get back out it is inclined. Take plenty of water and pack a snack to enjoy and the many picnic tables throughout the trails. 🥾 🚫No, you are not allowed to swim in the pool. The water is toxic runoff water that contains urban runoff and pesticides #nature #travel #thingstodoincalifornia #outdoors #waterfallsinlosangeles #waterfall #hiking #hikinginla #hikinginlosangeles #paradisefalls #thousandoaks

It was nice to hike to Paradise Falls, the Teepee and Lizard Rock in Thousand Oaks!💧🦎⛺️ The loop trail is more than 4 miles and took me about 2 1/2 hours to complete. The Teepee is on the way to the falls and is an easy stop. I later learned there’s The Little Cave about a half mile below it on another trail but I was so far ahead already that I didn’t want to back track. ⛺️ When hiking to Paradise Falls, you can see the falls from the top and the bottom. For a better view of the falls it is best to cross the creek. The rocks were a bit slippery but I managed!💧 For Lizard Rock, there is a good chunk of the loop going uphill and it is very steep and rocky, I am so glad I had my hiking poles with me!🦎 Overall there are a lot of fun stops along the way! #fyp #lizardrock #teepee #paradisefalls #mesatrail #venturacounty #thousandoaks #dontgochasingwaterfalls #waterfallhike #lizardrocktrail #venturatrails #venturahiking
