My family and I have been coming for years. There are two trails to the waterfall. The cliff trail is the harder of the two. My children tend to take that trail while us 'old folk' stick to the easy trail. Both end at the same spot so there are no real worries about not meeting up at the end. The waterfall is best viewed in march through may. From june on the waterflow gets smaller and smaller. Climbing the falls is fairly easy, even for the younger ones, but be aware of slippery rock surfaces both dry and wet. As you reach the top of the falls you can follow the stream back several hundred yards and there are a few good swimming holes for the kids to jump in. After climbing back down we head to the lake area and the kids swim while I grill and relax. Within the swimming area the water never gets to deep and the lifeguards are very attentive.

Read moreThere were pros and cons to this campground. First, the falls are absolutely gorgeous. It's probably worth it just to see those. The hiking trail to the falls is nice too, and there are two options for different ability levels. The camping sites, however, are very small and in some places so crammed together that you might have your tent backed up right against two or three neighbors. The ground is also very stony so they have provided flat gravel covered areas. These areas must fit your tents, tables, cars and anything else that takes up ground space. In some cases that makes the site crowded and frustrating with no room to play. In other cases the site abuts a field or woods. The gravel is small and is okay to sleep on, but gets into everything. Finally, the camp host near our site was great. He was friendly and polite and a great neighbor while...
Read moreThe campground was beautiful but for $75/night the cabins were horrendous. We stayed in the Dogwood cabin. It was so dusty and smelled so musty & moldy. The walls/floor/windows around the bunk beds were so dusty and cobwebbed my kids couldn’t even sleep there. My sons eyes swelled up over the course of the evening from all of the dust & mold. Luckily the front area had a fold down futon but in the process of folding it down we found toys from the previous campers and an actual mouse hole with acorns scattered under the futon. This lead us to scanning the whole cabin with our high powered flashlight and found bottles of water, a pacifier, a HUGE spider, and mouse turds under the bunk beds & queen bed. There was a note on the door when we arrived that said the cabin was just “cleaned”for our arrival. I don’t think the cabin has really been cleaned since...
