Aviation enthusiast on holiday in Florida with my wife and another couple. Valiant air command museum looked like a good bet to me, but would it have a broad enough appeal to prove an interesting day out for my three companions? It certainly was - all of us enjoyed it tremendously and I can't recommend it highly enough. On arrival we were greeted by Curt, one of the volunteer guides, who went into the first exhibition room and added a few extra pieces of information to some of the displays. However, once we realised this was a man with a real passion for the museum's exhibits and a wide knowledge of aircraft, and he realised that we were genuinely interested in what he had to say, we were treated to the best couple of hours in any museum anywhere. We sat in several cockpits whilst Curt brought the experience to life with interesting annecdotes from the operational history of the aircraft. The museum was big enough to house a great variety of exhibits but not so big that all of them are roped off and inaccessible.

Personally I would rather have good close-up access to a few dozen significant or unusual aircraft accompanied by a first-class guide than look at twice as many aircraft hanging from the ceiling or viewed from a roped-off area 20 feet away.

I can thoroughly recommend the museum, and more importantly, so can my non-aviation friends, who also enjoyed it a lot. Thanks Valiant, and...

A Living Museum of Wings and Heroes

Visiting the Valiant Air Command Warbird Museum is like stepping into a living time capsule, one filled not just with iconic aircraft, but with the voices and memories of those who flew, fixed, and fought in them.

The sheer amount of history on display is staggering. You don’t just see the planes, you feel the stories embedded in their metal bones. From WWII warbirds to Vietnam-era jets, the aircraft aren’t just museum pieces; many are lovingly restored to flight-ready condition. But what truly makes this place soar is the presence of the incredible veterans who volunteer here.

Some of these heroes have not only served in the military but have personally worked on the very planes that now command attention in the hangars. Their firsthand stories, technical knowledge, and heartfelt memories bring an irreplaceable depth to the experience. This isn't just a museum. It’s a storytelling sanctuary, where history is preserved not just in steel and rivets, but in wisdom passed face-to-face.

If you're someone who loves aviation, history, or simply honoring the people who shaped our freedoms, this visit will leave you deeply moved and inspired. Valiant Air Command isn’t just about looking back, it’s about keeping the past alive for the future.

Highly recommended. Bring your curiosity and be ready...

A great museum with beautifully well-restored aircraft and very friendly staff. This is on the eastern side of the Space Coast Regional Airport. The front face is a single building right off Tico Road. There is a parking lot directly in front of the main building. Tickets cost about $22 per person. There are 3 buildings associated with the museum. The first building has a lot of the more current aircraft. I was truly impressed as they had a F-15, 16, and 22 that were in excellent condition and on loan from other museums. You can walk out of the back of that building onto the concrete apron (make sure you DO NOT go past the signs onto the runway!). The second building had many of the older aircraft from Vietnam to now. They were all in excellent condition. Adjacent to that was a room that had a lot of memorabilia and information on the Vietnam War. Outside the second building (south of it) were 3 other aircraft that you could view. Overall, it is a very nice museum full of information, beautiful planes, and friendly staff. You exit through the gift shop. I plan to visit again and think you should too if you like beautiful aircraft in...

If you want to see a full 2 minute couple clips video it’s on youtube here https://youtu.be/gZqmrBlkrZg?si=F_p8bCVflzFvvpCE i personally didn’t include a lot of the cool stuff so there wouldn’t be “spoilers” in the video. if you want to see the entire museum that is in a different YouTube video on my channel. My roommate is a submarine veteran, so when we saw the sign returning from Kennedy Space Center he pulled in. It was really quite amazing for me, not because I am into military stuff, but because I had seen so many tv shows/movies over the years with these types of planes and helicopters in them. The F14 from the original topgun, flight of the intruder, MASH, We were soldiers, and Midway - the hellcat and dauntless airplanes and many more. Seeing them in person really put these movies into context for me. Many were much smaller and scarier than I expected. Like the dauntless dive bomber. We had a really good time and spend about 3 hours there. val

I've lived in Central FL for over 10 years and never knew this existed. Took the wife and kids (7 & 12) for a different kind of family outing. Found a good deal on Groupon for a family rate. This place is just amazing. The memorabilia that they have on display is really awesome. It was so cool to be that close to history. Then came the planes !!! OMG. First thing I saw was the F14-Tomcat. I highly recommend getting a tour. The volunteers are extremely knowledgeable and told so many fascinating stories about the planes. There is no charge for the tour and they are not allowed to accept tips. So I put our guides tip into the donation bin. Without the tour I'm sure we would have walked right past everything without really looking. We would have been done in 30 minutes or less. I was shocked to see that we were there for over 3 hrs. The tour was that good !! If you are looking for something different I highly recommend coming here.

While in town on business I stopped by the museum and was completely amazed by the amount of artifacts and planes on display. The staff greet you warmly and are very friendly. Completely versed on any of the items on display and are happy to share a story about what they know of the history behind the planes. My age group would be drawn to the Beautiful F-14 Tomcat in the hangar. What an amazing aircraft. It’s much larger than what you see in the movies. Many WW1 and WW2 era planes to see. As well as Vietnam era. There is even an opportunity to see where they rehabilitate these gorgeous aircraft. A few helicopters and the ramp has larger planes parked outside the hangar. So many things to see. Be sure and plan to spend the afternoon or the day. And buy a cool shirt in the gift shop. It all helps to keep the facility open. A special thank you to the volunteers who continue to serve our country 🇺🇸. Enjoy
