We picked this park bc of the good reviews and it was a quick stop to let my son run off some energy on the way to Tallulah Falls. The parking lot was covered up and so we went to sit at one of the tables next to the entrance. There was poison ivy along the trail and ants covering part of the bench, so we decided to walk down to the playground and pavilions.
The waterfall was beautiful, but I was disappointed to see that it looked man-made.
The bridges need maintenance big time. We carried our son across one bridge bc we were scared he would have fallen through the gaps. On the covered bridge there is a gap there as well.
The park was packed and every pavilion was taken up by parties with all different kinds of music blasting at the same time.
The playground had a metal stob of some kind sticking up from the ground that me and my son tripped over. A few swings were broken and the slides were too hot for my son to slide on so we left.
On our walk back, I noticed how outdated the walkway looked. Grass was growing through the cracks and it is uneven in some places.
The restroom made me just hold it until we found the first gas station. It didn't look like it had seen any type of service in years. The locks were missing on one stall. It smelled like urine as well as other gross things. Also no toilet paper, not that it surprised me, and a used tampon sitting on the counter next to the sink.
Idk if there is a janitorial crew or something or at least parks and recreation crew that comes in or not, but these issues seriously need brought to their attention. We were just not impressed by this little...
Read moreI This is a beautiful place. Stream for kids young and old to play in. Playground is fair. Seen nicer Playgrounds. The bathrooms entrance is mor Hamdocap friendly. There is No Way a wheelchair cam fit into the door of the bathroom. Many bridges over the water need repaying. If a child of mine fell through the sides, You would be facing a lawsuit. Bathrooms need the locks on the door in the stalls fixed. Don't even lock . Dangerous situation. I found someone's drugs tossed in the bushes. This Park has potential to be a nicer park.. the doors in bathroom need a good cleaning , stall doors too. Personally I think whoever is over Parks and Rec should pay places they are over a cisir on a regular bases. I have taken pictures and will...
Read moreThis park actually has a lot going on! As soon as you turn into the entrance, tennis courts are on either side of the road. Next, we see a pavilion and small amphitheater. The highlight is probably the waterfall with a descending staircase and overlook. After this, we find a covered bridge and more pavilions. Following these are a swing set and playground for children off to the left in the back of the park. If that wasn't enough, there's a couple walking trails right past the last footbridge, each no more than half a mile long. Turned out better than expected. I recommend giving this park a visit if you happen to be...
