This is a nice trail we have gone to a couple times over the last few years. If you go on Oberg trail, it's a little over 2.5+ mile hike. It starts out as a winding trail up the hill. Then once you get up top, there is a big loop that circles around the top of the mountain before meeting back up on the trail to head down. It is a moderate climb, but not bad. Did run into folks of a large age range on the trail. Our kids did fine with it, though our 5 year old did accept a piggyback ride from the 10 year old. On the other side of the parking lot is another trail for Laveaux mountain, as well as the Superior Hiking Trail. I think there is a 2 mile loop on that side as well, though don't quote me on it...we didn't have a chance to hike both...

The views were glorious and all the more so due to the fall colors. I was able to carry my sleeping 2 year old back down the trail with little trouble. On the way up there were a couple areas were it got a little close when other people came down. If you're walking solo and are a quick walker you can probably do the whole loop in an hour, otherwise plan for two hours to ensure you are able to see the views. The trail is mostly easy trail to walk with only some short inclines throughout and is well traveled due to it's convenience. Compared to Carlton Peak the views aren't as good but the shorter hike makes this a much more approachable destination. Make no mistake, however, the views on a clear day are fantastic and well...
