Oberg Mountain — Local services in Tofte Township

I'm a beginner level hiker and I brought a three year old with me. We handled the trail with ease going at our own pace. There are a few narrow and steep spots but nothing unmanageable for a beginner. Views are breathtaking and actually look like paintings. This is a popular location so there are a ton of people. There are a lot of times on the trail letting others pass you or waiting for people coming the other way. Patience is your friend. Parking can be tricky, might have to park along the road...

Great scenic loop with plenty to look at from Oberg Lake to Lake Superior and everything in between. The trails are largely clear with some rocks and roots on the path in places to add character. Can be a somewhat challenging hike depending on age, skill, condition. Parking lot is large, free and has a restroom and access to the less viewed Leveaux Mountain. Please come here with respect in your heart. This mountain is very sacred and does not like to be disturbed. If you're looking for a day trip hiking trails, this place is not for you. If you come with white sage, love and respect for our land and history, then you will have a good time. Do not take anything. Do not leave anything.
