Willowdale Estate — Attraction in Topsfield

The venue itself is absolutely STUNNING! It is such a wonderful experience driving up the road and seeing the beautiful mansion nestled with a serene, natural landscape in the background. The mansion itself is large and well-maintained. The gorgeous decor and pieces curate a very elegant, classy feel. The weather on our wedding day ended up being perfect for an outdoor ceremony in the courtyard! There is a lot of beautiful natural greenery and flowers and the stone texture of the mansion made for a cool backdrop. We loved exchanging our vows in the courtyard because the space is pleasantly secluded/private. It was delightful getting married at a venue where our wedding was the only event going on and we thoroughly enjoyed how intimate it felt. Several of our guests made comments about how magnificent our entire wedding venue was and how much they enjoyed exploring the mansion and walking around the property with its lovely landscaping!

We also received SO MANY compliments on was the food!! We had multiple guests tell us that the food at our wedding was not only the best food they’ve ever had at a wedding, but some of the best food they’ve had in general. All the food was incredibly delicious, from the h’orderves, the platters, the entrees we selected, to the house made Willowdale cookies they present for dessert!

After our wedding day, my husband and I reflected on how perfect our day was and how there were zero hiccups or issues. I can confidently say a large reason for that is due to our extremely organized, detail-oriented, communicative, kind, and caring Willowdale coordinator, JULIA D’AGOSTINO!!!

Julia was assigned as our wedding coordinator 8 weeks prior to our wedding and from the beginning, she was nothing but incredibly lovely and helpful! As someone who did not hire an additional wedding planner and did the majority of wedding planning myself, working with Julia was such a wonderful experience. She handled all the logistics of how the wedding day would proceed and communicated with all our wedding vendors to coordinate everything the week of our wedding. Based off our first meeting, I could tell that Julia was well-versed at making sure her couples’ weddings went flawlessly. She was very detail-oriented, thorough and extremely knowledgeable and answered all of our numerous questions and in general, just gave us such peace of mind. The weeks leading up to the wedding, I would email Julia multiple times trying to iron out minuscule questions and details and Julia would always be so accommodating, and respond promptly and with so much enthusiasm and kindness. On the wedding day itself, Julia was like superwoman! Wedding days can be a little chaotic as everyone is so antsy and excited but Julia did not miss a single beat. She made sure everyone was where they needed to be when they needed to be there and directed the entire wedding party for the ceremony and reception entrances. She was very attentive and throughout our entire wedding day, she was available to provide guidance for my husband and I, assist anyone (parents, wedding party, guests), or answer any questions that arose. Straight after our ceremony, she even had two trays of our signature cocktails ready for my husband, myself, and our parents and wedding party! Additionally, my husband and I spent a portion of our cocktail hour taking some more couple portraits and when we got back inside, Julia had several of each of our selected h’orderves waiting for us because she wanted to make sure we had a chance to try them!! Julia was without a doubt the MVP of our wedding day!!

Our special day at Willowdale truly felt like a fairy-tale. My husband, family, and friends and I still reminisce on our wedding day all the time because of how spectacular and fun it was. I will cherish the memories of our wedding day forever and Willowdale will always hold a special place in my heart. We truly could not have asked for a more perfect...

Willowdale Estate is by far the best wedding venue around. We had the most amazing wedding day and the majority of that was because of our great experience with Willowdale. When ,my then, fiancé and I were looking at venues online I found Willowdale and knew I needed to see it in person. We made an appointment and met with Belinda (who we absolutely adore) and we were sold. However, I had to discuss with my parents first and the biggest problem was getting them from the “south shore” to the “north shore”. We had conversations such as “look up this way for a venue” but I knew Willowdale was THE place. And their opinion quickly changed when Belinda took more time to have an another appointment, this time with my parents. We booked that day and it was the best decision we made. Our wedding coordinator was Nichole who helped us out a lot! I never thought of myself as a “crazy” bride (maybe i was Nichole? :) ) but there were moments I needed some extra opinions or questions and Nichole had all the answers. In honesty, I felt at some points the communication could have been a little bit better or more prompt. I sometimes had to send a second email for a response. However, this is at no extra charge to you so when I think of it that way I feel the service I received was great. This in no way would change my decision if I had a “ re-do”. Also, i wanted everything to be perfect and I’m used to doing things myself, so part was possibly having to put the trust in a strangers hand for your biggest day. ( if this sounds like you, trust your coordinator, they know what they are doing) If you book with Willowdale, they will do their absolute best to get you what you want. The bridal suite is amazing and I wanted to use this space to get ready. I didn’t have my ceremony at Willowdale, and I can’t remember 100%, but I believe if you want to use this space prior to your ceremony/reception you have to pay 100$ an hour and typically the earliest you can start getting ready is around 12ish. (I also don’t remember being specifically told this when booking but doesn’t mean it wasn’t said in the contract) This wouldn’t work for me as me and my bridesmaids needed to start getting ready at 9ish. I spoke with Nichole and told her this was one of the biggest things I wanted and my only other option was getting ready in my hotel room , which just wasn’t for me. After a few conversations, Nichole said it was possible if this is really what I wanted. It was absolutely amazing, (despite the price tag attached but it was worth it). We had a mimosa bar and lunch served that was absolutely amazing. Fast forward to the reception.... all I can say is wow! The staff/waitstaff are well trained and the chef is top notch. My family and friends are still raving about the venue and the food. Willowdale thinks of all the little details that you wouldn’t think of! Small things/mess ups(none on Willowdales end) I am just finding out about now that I had no idea about, such as all my balloons for our New years eve balloon drop went flying out of the delivery truck and were apparently spread all across Willowdale’s property!!! No one had any idea and it was like nothing happened when the hundreds of balloons dropped down at midnight from the balcony above the dance floor! Although I am sad that our wedding is over, I know that Willowdale puts on a great party ( the Halloween party is so fun) and there are so many great events and opportunities to stay connected. We absolutely loved our wedding at Willowdale Estate! The venue is absolutely gorgeous, the food delicious, & the staff is kind, knowledgeable, & attentive. Our experience was amazing from beginning to end. From our first visit to Willowdale, we were hooked! Kaitlin, who gave us our tour, patiently guided us around the beautiful estate while we asked lots of questions & explored every nook and cranny of the property. We were blown away by the beauty of the place; the perfectly groomed gardens, the impressive glass ceiling, & the amazing suites were more than we could have hoped for. Also, the team was setting up for an event & the organization & efficiency was impressive. We could immediately tell that the team at Willowdale was a well-oiled machine. The planning experience was great as well. We only had 10 months to plan our wedding day & we never felt overwhelmed or neglected. Every time we called with a question, any member of the team was able to help us. When we wanted an extra visit to measure for flowers & take photos, it was granted. When they had not heard from us for a while, they called to check in. The portal was easy to use for planning & payment & the resources were very helpful. I also cannot say enough wonderful things about our Wedding coordinator Nichole! We LOVE her! We felt like she had our back at every step along the way & by the time our wedding came along, she was a great ally and friend. At our initial planning meeting, Nichole took the time to make sure that we covered every aspect of our day & that translated into the smoothest event! We were really able to make the wedding our own! Nichole was a great resource & organized all of our vendors seamlessly. She had helpful suggestions at our planning meeting & offered helpful advice. We wanted to add some unique touches in terms of décor & this was not only accepted but encouraged. On our wedding day, Nichole was able to articulate our overall vision PERFECTLY!!!! It was almost as if we set it up ourselves! Nichole and the whole team were amazing. They were so organized from the rehearsal to the décor pick up. Nichole checked up on us without hovering. She made sure that we were well cared for all night & even packed us cookies because she noticed we were too busy dancing to get dessert. I have no reservations in saying that Nichole is an excellent weeding coordinator; she was all we could have asked for and more! Our guests could not say enough about their experience at Willowdale! So many of them reached out & told us that they had the best time. Our friends and family could not stop talking about how beautiful the venue was and how great the staff was. They loved how we were able to incorporate so many of our own special touches and commented on how smooth the weather plan was. They talked about the food; wonderful appetizers, a delicious signature cocktail, a great meal with attentive service & the most delicious chocolate chip cookies! Many of our people told us that it was the BEST food they had at a wedding. Our guests felt comfortable exploring the grounds and mansion, hanging out in the beautifully lit courtyard, & dancing the night away under the elegant tent. Overall, we were happy to hear all of the wonderful feedback. We wished for our guests to have a great time & a memorable night & Willowdale delivered!
