Great Baehre Swamp Wildlife Management Area — Attraction in Town of Amherst

This is a great place to visit any time of year. Winter you will find the kids playing on the great sled hill they have. Spring you can take a walk along the boardwalk and paved pathways summer maybe eat your lunch or dinner in a covered pavilion as you watch the kids play on the fantastic playground errected here. This place is coming along nicely. They recently installed a new playground for the children. (I hear there are plans to expand the playground already). There are several trails to walk (both blacktopped and wooden plank). It's too bad Amherst's trails aren't maintained through the winter (like Clarence does), but it is a very nice place to go for a walk any time of the year.
