Sadly not as great as this amazing park deserves. We stayed the week before Memorial Day. Weather was great and the lake and amenities were as well. The camps sites on the other hand were appalling. Not one site we stayed at was remotely leveled. The first site we were assigned had mid shin high grass that they wouldn’t mow because we were there and the second has such a slope we needed 6 inches under our tires to level one side of our camper. And that’s not to mention that I had to pay ~$50 a night. In my opinion for the cost Devils Lake Camping is not worth it if you can find something else.

The campsite at Northern lights offered electricity, no sewer and no water. Water fountains stationed sporadically around the campsite. The campsites have not been leveled. The comfort station needs attention and some love. The showers are always crowded. They need to invest some money in the comfort stations. It’s like a basic core of engineer amenities. The price of $60 a night for what you get ain’t worth it Plus you need to pay $16 park admission. Not great value @ $66 a night

I should say I like Quartzite more than this one but Northern Lights is still a 5 star campground. Specially during Covid the spots have enough distances you can practice social distancing while socializing ;) Photo is Quartzite campground.

The campground is nothing special and way over priced for a state park. In booking again I really wouldn't stay here. To top it off I arrived at 2:40pm and the check-in time is 3pm. The girl checking me in was nice and gave me directions to my site after collecting the $16 Wisconsin state park fee. On the way to my site 221 I got stopped by the camp host at 2:47pm and asked to leave the park because I couldn't be on my site until 3pm. After a heated debate he decided he would let me proceed this one time. He was so generous! I'm not really seeing the need to return. Supposedly generators are not allowed but my neighbor ran his all evening and then started it again at 6:30am. I guess the camp host doesn't have a problem...
