Stopped by with some friends & family from out of town on a Wednesday later in the afternoon for some food and to try some bottles of wine. Over the years we have brought friends to the winery, bought multiple bottles of their wine, and enjoyed the atmosphere of the establishment. On this day we arrived at the winery around 4:30pm, bought two bottles of wine and some food. We had spent around $80 at this winery on these items. Our intention was to purchase one more bottle of wine while we were sitting at an outdoor table plus a few more bottles of wine for the cottage down the road for later in the week At 5:20pm the self proclaimed "owner" Scott approached our table to imply that he would charge us $5 per person to continue to sit there as there was entertainment starting at 6pm or he "joked" that it was that or that he would kick us out. Scott was non-apologetic to disturbing our family outing at all. Several open tables existed when he came to our table. We were not there to see the entertainment, we had already spent more at the establishment than our "cover charge" and we were intending to spend more money, however this interaction was a complete turn off and we promptly left We will not return and be sure to share this unfortunate experience with our friends and associates. The penny wise and pound foolish owner is the sole reason that we were made to feel unwelcome and we have no desire to ever support this establishment again in...
Read moreI was disappointed with this winery after seeing their website and reviews on Google that raved about how nice it was and all the talk about a chef curated menu and quality food. But the food was disappointing. Not bad but very average and didn't come as described. Our pizza was missing the spinach pesto with it and just wasn't the quality that I was led on to believe. I'm also a little soured in my review because of the staff who took our order was very unfriendly. I asked a question to clarify the types of cheeses on the cheese board options because it just lists brand names that I wasn't familiar with and she was clearly very annoyed or thought I was stupid or something and just asks if I'd even read the menu yet. Of course I had which is why I'm asking a question about the menu. Dramatically she walks back to grab a menu and starts rattling off the types of cheeses but not saying which was which. At this point we gave up and just placed our order. She was clearly just in a bad mood and very annoyed that we were here. I came in very excited about this place but I definitely agree with another person's Google review of a 'corporate' vibe. Get people in and out and not...
Read moreWent there for lunch and a wine tasting. The restaurant is just a small self serve cafe meaning you order at the counter and pick up at the counter. Seating is both indoor and outdoor patio. Was not impressed with the kitchen arrangement (looked like just a microwave and an oven) so we decided to try the pate first. The pate is course/chunky which I don't prefer as much. The slices were cut very unevenly so for even a simple presentation they didn't take the time to do it right. It was served with enough mustard for three times the amonunt of pate and enough baguette for half the amount of pate. The pickled vegetables we're two short aspargas spears and two tiny carrots. There was also a very small salad.
For the wine tasting we had a nice young lady who seemed to be following a script. If you took her off script by making s comment about the particular wine you were tasting she seemed lost. Wines we're good but, in my opinion, not great.
Overall I though it was OK. Certainly worth giving it a try since, after all, this is...
