Salmo Pond County Park — Attraction in Town of Berry

Salmo pond is small, stained water water, with a green hue. The lake also has a large variety of aquatic vegetation.

There are several fishing spots, some with little trails leading to them, but there are several fishing piers off of the main path, with at least one of them being handicap accessible.

Black Earth Creek runs just behind the lake and offers the peaceful ambiance of slow bubbling water.

It is a nice place to visit but I wouldn't go out...

Showing wear and tear after the heavy usage of the last 30 years. Water quality has definitely worsened with invasive exotic aquatic weeds taking over. Otherwise a nice place to spend time fishing stocked trout early in spring and a good place to take your dog for a swim and walk. Of course it's right on the famous black earth creek for wild trout fishing. Not the greatest place to take a kid fishing though there's...

One of my happy spots. Cute little pond brimming with wetland wildlife. Down the path are more fishing spots and better views of the Black Earth Creek. Semis rumble by, yards away, but the sight of the pretty red farmhouse nestled among the green hills makes me feel like I'm still in nature. Experience may vary if a train rolls by. I really should have gone here instead of FedEx Ground...
