Salmo pond is small, stained water water, with a green hue. The lake also has a large variety of aquatic vegetation.
There are several fishing spots, some with little trails leading to them, but there are several fishing piers off of the main path, with at least one of them being handicap accessible.
Black Earth Creek runs just behind the lake and offers the peaceful ambiance of slow bubbling water.

Otherwise a nice place to spend time fishing stocked trout early in spring and a good place to take your dog for a swim and walk. Semis rumble by, yards away, but the sight of the pretty red farmhouse nestled among the green hills makes me feel like I'm still in nature. Experience may vary if a train rolls by.
