Beware of no cost teeth cleanings by students from the Viswanathan Dental Hygiene Clinic. I had a great student who was very nice, but the whole experience was not what I had been told it would be. My time there was for a 2 hour time slot and the whole two hours it took. The student asked me 150 questions until the time was over and then told me I should make an appointment to come back for the teeth cleaning. And she knew well beforehand that I lived over an hour away and was coming in for to have my teeth cleaned.

An affordable and nationally recognized community college that has an amazing diversity of students, great faculty and 100's of classes to choose from. MCC will open doors to any future you wish to create for yourself and has all the support you need to get there, if YOU choose to put forth the effort.

I was here supporting the use of Geotechnologies & Geography on campus… Everyone I met from The library to the students to the faculty are all top notch & the facilities are great.

if it wasn't for my professor, I would have given this place zero stars. my professor is great but the school has been a nightmare. They are not helpful at all or responsive. I am an adult looking to further my career by preparing for graduate school. I have been employed for 10+ years in Corporate Security and my job requires quite a bit of writing, ethics training, and legal documentation. When I applied for the Computer Science path, I made my initial advisor aware of all of this. I was told I would need to take English 101, a philosophy of business ethics class, and a type of gym class. When I told them I had a Bachelor's already (which had shown multiple English classes varying from 100 level classes to 400 level classes), that I work in business ethics, and that I do not see how the gym class would benefit my professional goals, I was told my career did not matter and that I just had to do it. When I pressed for further details why, they were not provided. When I requested I be put in the CompSci classes instead of these ridiculous and unhelpful ones, none were offered at a time that a working adult could attend. When I asked when they would be, I was told it's usually offered at least once a year. This was then follow by "but not this year, it hasn't been consistent" so they didn't know when I would be able to. I had been bounced around to three different advisors who all were more useless than the one before. They all brushed me off and told me to talk to another person who then could not answer and referred me back to my advisor. Financial aid was absolutely useless and everyone I interacted with, outside of my professor, was rude and unhelpful. This "college" is probably great if you can be a full time student out of high school working towards your first degree. It is absolutely useless for a working adult trying to better their life. I've never been more insulted than when a stranger, who is intended to be my "advisor", told me my career or past education did not matter. Not only that but when I arrived on time to my advisement (which was during my work hours but luckily I had a day off to be there) the advisor didn't acknowledge me because another staff person and her were talking about dinner. I stood there for 15 minutes while she looked at me - never acknowledged me - and talked about ordering food. When the other staff member noticed I was there he asked if he should excuse himself to which she responded "no it's fine." and continued talking. It was rude, it was offensive, and she discredited my work. I am also disabled and no assistance was provided or offered. It was an absolute mess and I will be leaving after taking one class. absolutely...

One of the most disrespectful and greedy businesses I've ever come across in my entire life, whether it's selling the entire curriculum to textbook companies, or scheduling profit/community events on class days, meaning you routinely feel out of place and in the way even though you're paying to be there, or simply being entirely let down and failed by facility.

I don't know if the school is desperately underfunded or simply earning themselves bonuses, either way if I'd known how rude, exploitive, and incompetent the staff of this facility were, I would've never wasted my time coming here and neither should you. Just take the time off to find out what you want to do and go to a real college when you have the money, one where they don't have to constantly sell themselves every week to anyone and everyone.

Or ignore me, come here, and slowly come to the same realization yourself. You're far better off just doing virtual if anything since all classes curriculum is based off of the virtual tests and homework designed by textbook companies (prepare to answer 100+ insanely repetitive and reductive multiple choice questions every week btw) and I've heard the dorms are full of chaos despite the massive amount of money you will pay to go there.

Not to mention the number of incidents of students coming to class with firearms or simple fights and breakdowns resulting in security and law enforcement intervention, it's honestly just not worth it to come in person at all.

The sight of a student being pinned to the ground by security has become completely normal to me.

MCC knows it's students are mostly teens and they love to take advantage of them as thoroughly as humanly possible.

The professors are mostly fantastic however and I wish they had more control over...

The first semester I spent there went ok and the second semester was ok as well. However, the summer semester was sabotaged by financial aid when I called them they indicated I was all set for the summer and 3 days prior to the start of my class in the 2nd session I called them because they kept sending me a bill that I was understanding that FA was covering this. However, they did not and indicated that I had to take 2 classes or 6 credit hours they restricted my account so I could not even view the courses to see if another was available to me to take for my degree program. So I had to drop the class that I had and get put back a semester. Getting ready for this upcoming fall semester They arbitrarily dropped me out of 2 classes because I had taken 1 and passed. Well that class I took was in 1991 when they did not use computers for accounting 101. So to get up to speed for accounting 102 I felt it best to redo acc 101 and my advisor did also who let me in but later kicked me out. This is all so they can keep their numbers looking good for the public without regard for the student. So I left with no resolve and Financial aid indicated that they would not pay for the class to be repeated. However, they did in the Spring semester when I took Japanese 101 a second time because I took it in the fall and passed with a C. So why one and not the other? I don't Know. However, After looking at the amount of Financial Aid I get compared to the other College it was 1/2 as much. Even for this coming fall semester I switched back to the other college FLCC and I registered for classes including accounting 101 without problem and my FA is double again. What is the difference between MCC and FLCC. I can only speculate but I do believe it is...
