Read moreNot the beach I grew up with during my childhood. It used to be alright during my childhood and the last time I came here when it was still decent was with my parents when I was 16 back in the summer of 2012. I came here today with my buddy who we knew each other since high school and believe me it was so not worth the day we couldn’t even survive 2 hours here.
There’s rocks and sticks all over the ground hurting our feet and getting into our sandals and it’s invested with dragonflies, mosquitoes, horseflies, and stubborn seagulls. A seagull flew right out of nowhere and snatched my buddy’s sandwich right out of his hands. Next thing you’ll know a family next to us started getting attacked by the seagulls and took all their food away.
My buddy then just cursed out “F* THIS S*” and we got right out of there. This beach is not what it used to be. Not your type of beach unless if you enjoy stubborn seagulls. Will no longer be coming back here unless if they clean up their act and do something about the rocks and sticks and especially the stubborn seagulls.
For a better beach to go to on Long Island go to Jones beach. At least not all the seagulls are...
Read moreAs a Photography . . . this is a 5 star place. Amazing views and compositions to be explored utilizing all different types of lenses focal length and aperture.
To the East you will find fantastic sunrise views both out on the pier as well as inside the Harbor. Often silhouettes of fisherman and/or the local deer can work well with the rising Sun.
To the West the sunsets offer many views to choose from. The rock jetties add texture and the cliffside homes also make fantastic subjects.
Great place to practice your long exposure photography.
As a general beach goer or fisherman I would give this place 4 stars only because on weekends it has quite a bit of boat trafficAlthough if you pick your time wisely I'm sure you could catch some really great prize fish at the mouth of the Harbor off up the pier the beach or the jetti.
Over all it's just a great place to go it's one of my frequent spots sometimes just to look at the water and think.
Highly...
