This park is mostly wonderful. The walking path is nice. A lot of grass for kids to play on. Everyone is usually very friendly. Tons of people frequent the park, so I always feel safe going. The playground was just renovated to add rubber mats, which is a huge improvement over the wood chips. The lock on the handicapped swing is broken however. They really need more infant swings by the kiddie playground. There is only one. The top of the spiral slide on the 2-5 year side always collects a puddle of water, which my son fell down the slide because of. And I wish the playground was better enclosed. It's not the best for runners or wanderers. At least the younger side should be gated. Because my 2 year old always tries to go to the bigger kid side, where he isn't safe. In addition, I'm wondering why the fire department siren needs to be at the corner when the fire department is all the way down the road. I do understand safety reasons for the intersection, but my 2 year old is afraid of it, it is extremely loud even for my ears. This is a huge factor for us to come here. Because of this, the broken handicapped swing, and the lack of gate, I would say this park is absolutely not sensory/ special needs friendly. We have yet to check out the indoor section or...
Read moreI was in NY for a little over 2 weeks. I like to get up early and wanted to walk but did not know where other than the side of road. My cousin told me about this place and boy am I sure she did.
It has something for everyone! Kids playground, softball / baseball area, Soccer area, hills, with pathways so you are not just walking on flat ground. Different cut throughs so it is not oval like a track etc.
I saw groups of people gathering in the morning to do what appeared to be CrossFit or boot camp type of work outs.
They have the solar system on the perimeter. Old farming equipment. Butterfly attracting flower gardens. And benches and just fabulous.
I noticed that I tended to see the same faces every day that I went so there are definitely regulars that go.
Will be back next time I am on the...
Read moreSo this August 2018, my sister had her wedding at Heritage park. It was booked 1pm to 5pm. My sister hired staff and a bartender plus a Dj. Needless to say at 4pm The HERITAGE PARK employees called last call and told the Dj to stop playing music. They originally said about 4:50pm my sister would have to start closing party down. There was a party scheduled after her party. NOW if i rent a hall for a party that is 1pm to 5pm my party is not over at 4pm. At 4 pm my sister's guests should be eating and dancing till 5pm. Heritage Park you owe my sister and apology and money back. So sad u pay for Dj, bartender and staff to serve and clean up from 1pm to 5pm not 1 to 4pm. We have book evening party and no problems so maybe just afternoon partys may have to deal with this. My sister...
